“Nicest burgers I have had in a very long time. Perfect chips too, crispy and golden on the outside and nice and soft on the inside with no excess grease, the paper wrapper was still dry. Can't wait to try something else on the menu.”
“Fast service, affordable option, reliable flavour - always a win!”
“Nice food and service with fair price”
“The food when it's available is good. This is our go to place if we don't want to cook. The service was marked down just because the dishes I want are never available or the cook doesn't want to make it, why have it on the menu? We just stick to smorgasbord as a result. The atmosphere is marked down because of other people in the town. It's outrageous that they need plastic barriers at the register because people attack the team. Last time I physically went in the plastic screen had been smashed by someone. Wairoa, why are you like this?”
Malaysia Delights Riverside Kitchen keeps things classic fish‑and‑chips and focused on flavour. A riverside backdrop rounds out the stop. Fish lands crisp with light batter and chips stay tidy. Meals reach the pass promptly.
“LOVE THIS PLACE. My favorite is the Hoki An Mee noodles. They are salty, tangy and spicy, with juicy prawns, beef and other meat. The broccoli and carrot, and onions also soak up the sauce, so when eating it melts in your mouth. They give very good veggie to noodle and meat ratio. My other favorites are their, prawn crackers, honey chicken (the chicken has a lovely rich honey coating which makes it taste like donuts) Nasi Goreng, a savory rice ( that is somewhat dry but very tasty) and Egg foo young which is savory egg dish, it comes with vegetables and meat in the egg mixture which makes a nice thick omelet. The staff are very welcoming, and always say hello with a big smile on their face. They always pack their dishes too the brim. My only negative thing I have to say is that the prices of the meals have come up to around $14.50 or more. This is expected though because of inflation. The other thing I tried was their dumplings. The soy sauce was rich and sweet, it seemed as though some honey was added. So good! The dumplings were crispy on the bottom and juicy when you bite through. Love this place! Been coming here for years, will never stop :)”
“Best Chinese chippy in Dunedin! They also do Kiwi/English food and Indian curries. I gave atmosphere three stats because it's a takeaway. We normally get combo chow mein, chicken curry and chips, sometimes all three! Not wheelchair or mobility scooter accessible, but they will take an order and payment from the door.”
“Stopped in for an early dinner, had a delicious combination 3 meat on rice dish and a sweet and sour pork (it had plenty of pineapple which is a plus!). Both were very tasty and large portions. Couldn’t fault it and had a nice family run feel to the place.”
“My partner who is very picky with fried rice said it's the best fried rice she's ever had!! I think so too! Full of flavor and super tasty!”
“I’ve noticed the changes the new owners has made to the store; the atmosphere of the store is much nicer, cleaner and tidier. especially the customer service there. Fantastic work! Food is also improved.”
“Great customer service. I love my snack box — thank you very much. They gave me two drumsticks instead of one big piece since they had run out, but it was still satisfying and great value.”
Noodle Canteen runs with a Japanese‑leaning menu and an easy pace. A family‑friendly feel comes through naturally. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Broths and noodles keep good heat and snap.
“A very genuine Northern- east cuisine. Food are delicious. Dumpling are handmade. Portion size is large and choices are plenty. Have round table and private rooms for friend gathering and business events.”
“The noodles here are amazing, the portion sizes are great. Specifically the tomato, egg, beef noodles. I also enjoyed the lamb kebabs, super flavourful. I've been ordered food multiple times and I love that is open late as well.”
“Street food at great prices. $16.90 for delicious noodles. Super quick service. Definitely worth a visit.”
“Been looking for good s&s pork and this is terrific. Needs 6 chunks of pineapple but still good”
“An old chinese restaurant but the menu really updated. The taste was great as well.”
“Second visit today, absolute fan of their prices and offerings. Highly recommend Minced pork with eggplant on rice (ask for chilli sauce on side) and thick noodles in spicy sauce - these 2 are from their budget lunch menu. Today I ordered baked chicken in Portuguese sauce on rice, was with a HK native who helped pick something uniquely local. Portuguese sauce is a bit like curry sauce and with the baked cheese and juicy chicken went surprisingly well with rice. Highly recommend (#50).”
“After all these years this rest is still holding strong. It used to be very expensive but right now $20 a take away meal looks reasonable. If u buy bbq take away alone it’s expensive. Food taste very yummy. The fly and the hair in the food are normal. Everyone has that. Overall I recommend this place to everyone”
“Food was great. Very cheap and very tasty. The service and atmosphere was great too. No annoying shop music, and not a lot of customers. However, the tables and chairs were a bit dirty, but that's ok because the place is very understaffed. There was only one old lady and the good food made up for it. Plus, the lady was very kind and nice.”
“Five stars all round for a bakery with heart and soul. The sweets and pies sure are tasty. With the option to dine in check out this shop when you want to eat great bakery fare.”
“Very tasty just a tad pricey, Especially the ordered food can also be delivered to your home! It's already great in Auckland!”
Burger Wisconsin delivers a burger-led offering that’s straight to the point. Good value shows in the serve sizes. Team members keep things friendly and on task. Wait times are contained even when busy.
“Been going to them for a couple years now, to start with i will say the chips were a little overcooked 90% of the time but over this year they have been cooked perfectly (to me atleast). Its unfortunate that they had to up the price but its understandable considering this economy at the moment, still happily geting my food though dispite that. The people there iv found have been really nice aswell, ill usually go next door to pick up something to drink but usually after that it dosnt take that long for the food to be ready. Sometimes ill actually go once or twice a week since its a easy lunch or dinner option and is only just a 5 minute walk for me.”
