Best pumpkin soup in town. And it's vegan! Coffee is average but all the food I've tried so far is great. I recommend the avocado on toast. This place is great for vegan, gluten free, paleo and organic options. Great range of free trade teas. Superb smoothies. Yummy slices. Lovely atmosphere. We love all the political art and the old school china. Good value for money too.

Really neat little gem. A bit hidden away as I had no idea this existed at all. We came here for a training day with a group and had catered food, which was divine! The setup, layout and overall vibe of the place is top tier too. They are very inclusive of all people and have an amazing philosophy toward life, as a business. I didn't actually get to try their coffee or go in and try their menu food, but I have told all my family and friends about them and will be going back to try them out properly.. I do also very much LOVE the way they've kept their minimal toilet spaces, inclusive.

Ethos Cafe: A Hidden Gem with a Side of Social Consciousness Tucked away from the main road, Ethos Cafe is a delightful discovery for anyone seeking a unique and thought-provoking cafe experience. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a captivating wall covered in an eclectic mix of art, posters, and quotes that instantly sets the tone for this unconventional establishment. The cafe itself has a cool, almost bohemian vibe, with mismatched furniture and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. I ordered an omelette, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The coffee was also decent, a solid brew that paired well with my meal. But what truly sets Ethos apart is its commitment to social and environmental causes. The cafe is clearly more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a hub for community and activism. The messages on the wall, the books on the shelves, and even the conversations at neighboring tables all contribute to a sense of shared purpose and passion.

This place makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, people working for the community and helping artists, potters, and creatives get their names out and be seen. All under the umbrella of a cafe, but it is so much more than that. The food and people are absolute stars! The menu is world class and presented so well. The building is loaded with character and it is just so fun and cozy. Today I had an iced mocha and the big breakfast. The karage chicken was juicy and succulent and ever so yummy. The sausage roll was delectable. The portions were generous, and it is great value for money. Treat yourself and go and visit these guys!!!

Warm inviting atmosphere.. Very nice coffee, tasty meat pie, well made pastry! Good parking space, easy access for wheelchair or limited mobility persons. As a first time visitor I was impressed. Have recommended Ethos to folks who were unaware where it was. Thsnk you.

Nice little cafe hidden off the main road. I loved the inclusion of kupu Māori on the menu board. You kind of get the feeling they are 1 big whanau which is awesome! Very organic feel. I ordered lemon, honey & ginger and the big breakky. Will definately go back again. Thanks

Great service. Querky cross between Sunday school tea and biscuits and a classroom. Lovely eggs on 5 grain toast and probably one of the best presented capuchinos being beautifully gloss white froth. I felt kitchen food was well priced but cabinet food was far too pricy. $8 for a slice is $2 above town prices. Maybe look into this.
