I was genuinely surprised by how exceptional the food was. Each tapas dish delivered its own distinct flavour, with an impressive variety that kept every bite interesting. From bold, vibrant tastes to more subtle, refined notes, the balance across the menu was outstanding. What really stood out was the consistencyβ€”every dish was executed to a high standard, with clear attention to quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. An excellent tapas experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

wife booked 6pm dinner, 5+2 @ Gothenburg in Hamilton food is good standard, among our best meal in NZ. good service, superb double volume ambience calamari & crudo - king fish, quite like truffle kampachi, the best beef tataki good too, and good serving, marinade somewhat different, i like. cured salmon very good, great sauce too. lamb rack superb, very canaralised and rendered out the fat, flavourful not lamby tortellini and prawn pasta both good, great prawn bisque flavours. grilled snapper very cridp skin, good standard. the duck liver pate very flavourful, outshines the mozzarella toast, which also good. desserts, chocolate mousse and pistachio, the usual. 18.11.2025

I had my birthday dinner with my friend here. We both loved all the dishes that we shared. I love the concept of tapas. Various options on the wines and I was able to choose easily among them. Service was amazing. Overall amazing experience

Part of a No 8 Bus tour. Four course meals, on plates, at Tables. 8 people per table. Help ourselves. Plenty for all. Great selections. Service very prompt. More if you wanted it. Waitresses very attentive and pleasant.. The offer was made to takeaway uneaten food. Thank you..... 10 out of 10...

Fantastic tapas and very friendly and attentive wait staff. Tapas feel a tad expensive for quantity, but the freshness of the ingredients, flavour and presentation make up for it. The restaurant itself is nice, perhaps the large room can make it feel a little echoey and loud at times, but it added to the atmosphere and didn't bother me much. Highly recommend the set menu, had the 80pp and it provided a fantastic variety and I was definitely satisfied and full by the end. Potato gratin was probably my least favorite, quite salty. Everything else exquisite.

We arrived at the restaurant quite late just after 2pm for lunch. The staff was very nice to accommodate us. The service was effortlessly friendly and efficient even though most diners were leaving and thinning out for a change over. Our first two dish were great especially the Prawns and Scallops Ravioli. The duck confit was a bit dry and the sauce wasn’t that interesting. The pull pork were all deep fried and crispy, I wish there some fresh pork bits for contrasting texture but no, so a bit dry too. There were still something to like about the dish. The wines and cheeses we’re wonderful. Love the spaciousness of the building. Definitely will come back to try their other dishes when we visit Hamilton again.

Finally managed to secure a last minute booking - we generally don’t plan our outings so was hard to get in here but worth the hours drive from Pukekohe. Beef Tataki and Polenta were our fave dishes! The tataki was insanely good with perfect accompaniments. The polenta - I didn’t know it could be this good! We also had the duck which was yum. The crudo which was really good with yum flavourings but used snapper which I find very bland. Also got the calamari which was just okay. Service was awesome and attentive and the ambience was lovely. The menu seemed quite expensive even compared to Auckland prices but we got 5 dishes, a mocktail and sparkling water for $125 so we’re actually really happy with that and the standard of food matches the prices.

I recently visited this restaurant with my family and had a mixed experience. While I appreciated the allergy menu and good selection of gluten-free options, the pork belly dish was disappointing. The pork belly was too dry and lacked of crispness on the skin, I was hoping to have that crunchie sound when cutting up. On a positive note, the prawn and scallop tortellini was impressive and delicious. However, the food took a bit too long to arrive at the table, which was a bit frustrating. The portions were quite small due to the tapas style of dining, which made it hard to justify the high price. Overall, I would still recommend this restaurant for the good selection of gluten-free options.
