We took friends for an end of year lunch and the service was good the food was average and very pricey. $30 for a plate of fish and chips, $30 for a burger but what we didn't realise is the menu prices ate excluding GST so by the time that was added a very basic lunch for 4 people was just over $180. Certainly not good value for money.
Very attentive staff as soon as we arrived, the new menu is varied and everything we had was delicious - great sizes and fresh. Beautiful fresh seafood options Lovely relaxed atmosphere
A 12 person table booked in for over a week, having an hour wait for your order (and not at all busy)........tooooo long. Parts of your meal i.e. the sauces, coming out when your finished. Drinks half an hour wait after ordering. I can go on, but guys, get it right, this is not good. Meantime I would like to say that the actual food was great.
Visited last Sunday - Walking distance from Te Aroha soda spa, great vibe and food and drink. friendly and beautiful staff, Loved Te Aroha special lemonade 'Te Aroha Lemon sparkling soda' had fish and chips, red curry, Chicken with Korean bbq sauce, all were amazing - back garden had magnificent Magnolia and heavenly smelling jasmine flowers - will visit again
With the appearance of a great neighborhood tap room, this restaurant provided dishes that were rich with flavor and skillfully created. The vegetables were all fresh and cooked perfectly. The lamb pie has a very strong rich flavor. It was almost a deconstructed shepherd's pie with the potatoes on the side. Short rib had a lot of meat and fell apart. It also had crispy ends. The chowder was filled with seafood and vegetables with a background sauce. Everything was amazing. They have a combination of inside and mainly outside dining to enjoy the beautiful summer weather.
Just wow!! A group of biker girls and I went to lunch there on Sunday...amazing friendly service and the food was awesome. The burger...omg the burger!! Best I've had in a very long time. I want another one!! Compliments to the chef. We'll be back!!
Awesome pub great food, if you popping though a must stop on your way. Great staff too !!
Food was fantastic, staff are lovely. Bonus points as this is one of the few pubs with a decent amount of vegetarian options. (Like 5 proper options that weren’t pasta) I had the meat Korean burger, my partner had the vege burger, both fantastic. Then we also had dessert and the cheesecake is epic. Highly recommend, also highly recommend you book as these guys are busy and rightly so!

Was so pleasantly surprised at the menu of one of the few restaurants in Te Aroha being so extravagant! Everything sounded good but we ended up getting the burger and the guinness lamb pie and both were so flavorful and delicious! The staff were very friendly and we caught the tail end of open mic night on Sunday evenings which was fun music and made for a great atmosphere. The drinks on tap were good and overall it was a great experience.
