On the plate at TUCKER TIRAU, the idea is classic fish‑and‑chips and well judged. Breakfast plates are tidy and satisfying. Serve sizes show solid value. Fries and sides round things out neatly. Fillets arrive fresh and the fry stays clean.
Really relaxed eatery with super helpful staff and freshly prepared food. We had lunch on a drive back towards Hamilton. The food is all prepared while you wait but the menu designed so that the wait time is minimal. Coffee and cake to round things off - good value and would recommend
I recently stopped by Tucker Cafe in Tīrau and had their Beef and Cheddar Pie, and I have to say, it was very good! The pie was fantastic—the pastry was wonderfully flaky and golden brown, topped with a sprinkle of black sesame seeds, giving it a great look and texture. Inside, the filling was rich, savory shredded beef mixed with cheddar, creating a hearty and satisfying experience. It was served alongside a fresh, vibrant side salad which offered a nice, crisp contrast to the richness of the pie. Paired with a coffee, this was the perfect savory treat. Highly recommend stopping here for a delicious pie!
Excellent service at this Cafe. Nice and quiet and the food was amazing. Stopped in for a Coffee and couldn't resist trying the scones. Probably the best scones I have ever had (sorry Mum & Nan).
Great place to stop in Tirau. Good selection of food and drinks which was delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommended.
Highly recommend. My family and I stumbled upon this place after a hike. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was warm and polite. The peri peri chicken was light, flavorful, and smoky, and the burgers were expertly seasoned. If I weren’t just vacationing in the area, I would be a regular!
Friendly and polite staff, great little cafe to stop by when travelling between cities. Had a sign claiming to have the best burgers in town; haven't tried the other cafes but it was pretty damn good. Nicely toasted, soft brioche buns but the burger overall was a little dry and could do with a bit more cheese. Does not come with any sides, however. Overall, very pleasant experience.
Food and coffee were truly amazing. The customer service was as great as the food was. Very friendly staff trying to make us as comfortable as she could. Definitely coming back while passing through Tirau.
We absolutely loved our visit. Food was tasty and fresh. Our lovely server was excellent and catered wonderfully to me with a gluten intolerance. We’re looking forward to visiting again, thank you for having us xxo
Wow, a modern contemporary Cafe right in the heart of Tirau. We had brunch of fish and chips and eggs Benedict. The fish was good. The eggs Benedict with home made hollandaise mushrooms and belly bacon were superb. Hood coffee and warm friendly staff. Recommended ❤️
New Zealand vacation day 4 - on our way back to Auckland, we stopped off at Tucker Tirau for a late lunch. Place is a small boutique restaurant. Simple decor, we sat at a large table that was cut from a huge tree. See accompanying picture. Staff was very friendly and food was amazing, especially the French toast. Best I've ever had and better than any in Canada! I've had French Toast from small diners to 5 star hotels and restaurants. Tucker Tirau French Toast beats them all! The crunch and taste was amazing! Adding scoop of ice cream, put's this dish over the top! If you're in the area, you have to stop by and try their food, especially their French toast.
