    Customer service could improve. Not as welcoming as other restaurants we have visited. We had a 3 course and a 2 course meal. All food was good except the kingfish as the main as it was lacking a sweeter flavour - everything was savoury and salty including the salami, potatoes and the sauces were salty. Needed something sweet to cut out that saltiness. The ribeye steak main was cooked real good! Entree we ordered the pork and beef which were divine! Sticky date pudding was good also! Overall, it was a good experience and may return to try other food on the menu!

    First time coming, we did the $75 set menu. I’d say everything was pretty good, it wasn’t up to all the hype around it for me personally but it was still yum. The snapper and potato is now one of my fav restaurant dishes though! Would recommend.

    A shout out to Mat and his team at Palate for making my husband birthday a wonderful, memorable dining experience. This was our first visit since Palate moved and don't know why we waited so long to try it!! Every dish was cooked to perfection and the flavours worked beautifully together (oysters, grilled venison tongue, octopus, beef tartare, Merino Lamb, Greenstone Creek Sirloin steak and just has to finish with the delicious coromandel chocolate, liquorice ice cream, red wine poached local pear for dessert. Fabulous wine menu and a very friendly and knowledgeable Wine Connoisseur to help you choose the perfect wine match. From start to finish, it was a real treat. The service was friendly, efficient and attentive. The ambience great. Can't wait to go back!

    Five stars allround, an exceptional dining experience. Food was fresh, flavoursome, bountiful and well cooked, the snapper wing & duck pastilla true highlights. The service was great, the location central and the restaurant is a comforting place to dine without being overpriced.     Dined with friends at the Matt Connell Wines Degustation dinner last night at Palate. Perfectly paired wines with the best tasting and perfectly presented food ever. Great friendly service by our waitresses and chef Matt himself. Get along people and support one of the best restaurants in Hamilton city.

    Review I've had a trip to Hamilton and this is my favorite restaurant by far. I've dined here multiple times just to enjoy several different items on the menu, and have yet to be disappointed! I must admit that I've gotten the cashew meringue every time for dessert as it's genuinely one of the best desserts I've had! If forced to find one negative thing to say, it's honestly a positive, and that's that the menu can change. Don't get too attached to anything! But variety is the spice of life. I can't recommend dining enough! And a perfect compliment to the stunning food is the knowledgeable and friendly staff. A must visit if you're in Hamilton! I'll keep my fingers crossed the Cashew Meringue is on the menu next time I'm in town

    The customer service and food is always amazing here. The creativity behind the dishes always makes me want to come back and try something different. The lamb was extremely tender and juicy, it was better then the beef which surprised us. The chocolate mousse was very nice as well. Perfect way to finish off the night. If price isn't an issue for you I would highly recommend coming here for dinner.
