“Spencerville Park was a delightful experience. The spacious market was a highlight, and the well-maintained park offered excellent restroom facilities. Plus, there's a great variety of playground equipment for kids to enjoy.”
“A great place to stay and enjoy this lovely city! The welcome by the staff has been fantastic and the food and staff in the restaurant is also fantastic! Many thanks to you all! Our room also is so lovely and homely with the living room enjoying views of the gardens and so very pleasant. The bathroom works really well and the king size bed is just like home! Thanks for everything. From the Bonds.”
“My niece started when she was 6 months old. She’s now 18 months and still absolutely loves it. Very friendly and accomodating centre.”
“Its really good you can get a free bike or if something wrong with your bike they fix it for free!!! So come down here every Wednesday”
“Stayed here before flying out of Christchurch. Uber is around 50nzd to airport. Owner was amazing and loved some banter! Very accommodating and even though he had over bookings (because of third party booking apps) he made it work for us. Rooms are simple but have everything you need. There is a bar at the front and the staff are lovely there too. True kiwi hospitality! Chur!”
“Brilliant wee park. Two awesome playgrounds. One for smaller kids by the pool and one for larger kids by the toilets. Dog friendly although dogs are meant to be on leash and people are very irresponsible especially the fact that it is a park for children and not all children like dogs. Rubbish bins available IF people bother picking up their dog poo. The pool is Brilliant for toddlers if not too cold.”
“You have some nice walks of varying ability - head up valley for gentler climb - some trees bird song. Head up to left for a steeper climb - can even get to Ridgeline and look over Lyttleton harbour- can share with mountain bikes- so keep lively - normally parking at the end of the road is no problem - Happy walking”
“Great camp. Very handy to Kaiapoi town, the river queen boat and some good walks and bike tracks …”
“Nice walkway. I used valley track carpark and walked valley track and emerged to Rapaki. Just took 40mins. And going down to valley track, it will be fine but pretty tough in the end.”
“Had a lovely round of disc golf.”
“Lovely visit to the beach. We saw the rock cave and there was a restaurant right on the beach.”
“Beautiful area and so many friendly people with their dogs!”
“Went here a few weeks back and had a lovely time having a look around while the dogs played. The community there are also very friendly and talkative which was really nice to see. Big open spaces for the dogs to run which is contained with gates to easily open and close when needed. Thought it was awesome too that there were plenty of rubbish bins around also with some picnic tables if you need to have a sit down while watching your dogs play.”
“It’s the Beach !!!! The Sun’s out, no Clouds in sight. What else is there to say apart from 5 stars aren’t enough to express how much I love it here!!!!”
“Great facility and one of the best places in NZ for our Secondary Schools Cycling event. Thank you Ruapuna Park.”
“2 adjacent dog parks, one for under 14kg dogs. A nice big area for ball chasing.”
“Very nice, quiet, park with an easy trail to a beautiful clifftop lookout!”
“Nice and relaxing place... Good place for walking, running and bird watching ♥️”
“Huge playground for the little ones and big kids. It's huge and with lot of equipments. It will keep the kids busy for hours and hours. Parking is available next to the park and if you are lucky a food truck will also be present next to the park to have some snacks if needed.”
“Beautiful spot. Very cheap fish and chippy nearby, what's not to like!”
“A peaceful escape from the city, watercress grows all along the river and the water looks fresh and swimmable”
“Wonderful vintage Market at this beautiful historic home. Market nicely set up inside house. A good rummage day.”
“First time playing mini golf at McDuffs today. $35 for 2 adults and 1 preschooler. Grounds are well maintained, with the castle being the main feature. Had a good time! Highly recommend.”
“A great range of scenic walks, with different lengths and abilities. Some interesting historical landmarks and a cafe that is open occasionally. It also includes a lovely area with a large childrens playground and space for picnics.”
“Situated in approximately 26acres of bushland, adjacent to the Ashley gorge and Ashley River. This is a beautiful area with plenty of space for everyone. There are clean and modern bathrooms and well appointed kitchens. A small playground, with swings and a slide etc, sitting on a raised area full of bark-chips for safety. Lots of time and effort has been put into this park over the last few years, and is a credit to the new owners.”
“Almost an hour to the beach from the entrance, nice & flat foot path, i’d highly recommend this place if you enjoy taking a stroll while listening to your fav album. Remember to take a photo of the map before going in as the park itself is MASSIVE”
“This is an awesome dog park for both small and big dogs with separate gated areas”
“Had a coffee break out witnessing. Watch out for the golfers hitting golf balls lol. i noticed there was a lot of green grass and trees, pioneer stadium is close by and one good feature out side was that there was volley ball courts and tennis courts and basket ball courts all available free to use. and there are picnic tables and a barbeque there to use, so i recommend trying out this place with your family.”
