Fabulous area, a credit to the Board and caretakers. Lovely picnicking and camping areas, a number of walking tracks, and well preserved historic farming machinery and buildings to browse. Stunning!

Came here to visit the arboretum, but it was underwhelming - the trees are quite young, and about as interesting as a walk through a pine plantation. Also the park entry fee was increased from $5 to $10 for the Spring Fair (which made the experience worse because the music ruined what would otherwise have been a peaceful atmosphere). Maybe the other walks, café, etc. are nice as per other reviews, but don't bother coming here for the arboretum, and don't visit when there's an event on unless that's the vibe you want. If you want to still want to visit, and you're coming from Diamond Harbour without a car, walk via Hunters Rd, Bayview Rd and Andersons Rd. This route is very hilly, but safer and more pleasant than the main road (Marine Dr), which is narrow and busy with no footpaths.

A great place to visit for a day tramp, about 20min out of Christchurch. As it is privately owned, there is a small entry fee (honesty box). Tracks are well maintained and the is varied scenery with some lovely views along the way.

A lovely place to visit under an hour from Christchurch. Short, long and longer walks. Great cafe, date and savory scones delicious. There is an entry fee for the walks but not the cafe. We'll worth it. Beautifully kept and maintained.

A great range of scenic walks, with different lengths and abilities. Some interesting historical landmarks and a cafe that is open occasionally. It also includes a lovely area with a large childrens playground and space for picnics.

Stunning area, beautiful and enormous eucalyptus and native trees with tranquil pretty bushwalks, fresh flowing streams, gorgeous views, waterfalls and a very picturesque cafe. Interesting history with an old schoolhouse, mill, blacksmith, pet cemetery and stables with loads of old carts, ploughs, machinery etc. Perfect parklands for family picnics and walks. Highly recommend visiting!

Camped here for 2 nights in our self-contained van. Wonderful peaceful campsites surrounded by trees and flowing streams. Toilet block for campervans is old school but new block in tent area has hot showers. Walking tracks are varied and well maintained. a great spot.

Gorgeous walks. My brother and I did the waterfall walk. It has a few challenging bits and there is a washed out bridge so you have to cross the stream over rocks but so worth it. Highly recommend
