   The location and hotel grounds are absolutely stunning! The rooms are a little small and “basic” but have all of your necessities! Beautiful area to walk around and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Would be a beautiful area for a wedding or event!

   The Chateau has clean rooms a solid breakfast restaurant and a friendly and cozy pub style bar. They also have a pool but i’ve never been as it’s never warm enough when i come to Christchurch. The pillows are good, the shower has great water pressure and the bed is comfortable so it ticks all the major boxes. We had a brief disagreement with one of the managers about charges and the accounts but after a bit of back and forth they did the right thing. To get into town its a easy and nice walk through Hagley Park but there are hotels closer to the main attractions in the CBD. Parking is easy which is a big advantage. Overall I would stay here again when coming to CHC for work.

   This is a beautiful property rooms are what you expect for a Doubletree (super small shower but great water pressure). The service though, I edited my reservation by a day and it cost 5,000 additional Hilton points- cool. I get to the hotel, which texted me the day before and check in. Nothing is said. Get a text to ask about the room… I go to sleep after 36 hours of travel and the room phone rings and wakes me up. They said there was an issue with the change, I explained and was let off the phone and wide awake. The next morning, I check out and am told that I am good to go. The app never checked me out, even the next day. I just got an email stating that I owe a balance?!?! No. Edit after hotel response- To reply to me not having enough points. You don’t need to “explain” what happened to me in a review. This should have been handled while I was at the property.

   A great place to stay and enjoy this lovely city! The welcome by the staff has been fantastic and the food and staff in the restaurant is also fantastic! Many thanks to you all! Our room also is so lovely and homely with the living room enjoying views of the gardens and so very pleasant. The bathroom works really well and the king size bed is just like home! Thanks for everything. From the Bonds.

   This is without question the finest, best designed hotel and grounds in Christchurch, if not the country. One of the late Peter Beaven’s landmark buildings, the peerless ,uplifting architecture and beautiful gardens are complemented by excellent staff in all departments. Our family dines and stays at the hotel often and we always enjoy excellent service. The only small thing improvement I would suggest is heating the hallways in the North block.

   Lovely hotel and great breakfast. Good location, not too far from the airport and a nice walk through the gardens to the city center. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast was a stand out - it had so many choices!

   We had a very nice two night say in December. It is very close to the botanical gardens. An easy walk downtown on a nice day. We had dinner at the restaurant on the property. Prices were reasonable considering it was a hotel. Food was pretty good. We loved the lamb. Very good wine selection and mixed drinks. The room was solid, just what you would expect from a double tree. The staff was exceptionally nice. We had just arrived with one sick kid and had been driving for five hours. The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Hotel was very nice, good location (quiet- which was nice!). We would come back again.

   Great food. Probably the best prepared for every meal Great chefs But reception a disaster. Our priority check in for health reasons did not occur until 4.30!! Then at check out wanted to charge us for accomodation already paid for. Untrained ditherers management needs to upgrade training. Not hard. Otherwise staff friendly and helpful. Servicing of rooms hit and miss but adequate after a bit of tweak
