“This Cafe is a gem and vastly superior to the other cafes in this area. Food is really good but on top of that the service is great. Our most recent visit was exceptional - the owner heard the kids talking about a dish they wanted but it wasn't on the menu. He proactively offered to make the dish. Thank you.”

“Really helpful and friendly service but the real stand out are the sweaters! Absolutely gorgeous. We wanted something really warm, but not too bulky. We were a little worried about the possum because we’ve experienced it being itchy before now but not with Ahipao! Soft as a cloud and great quality. Can’t recommend highly enough and will be a definite go to for our winter woolies.”

“I can't believe I haven't been here before as I live just down the road. Last time I was in here it was still Conch Records... Ate there for the first time with a friend who works in hospo and we were both super impressed with the tacos. Good craft beer, lots of options and (for Ponsonby) not too devastatingly expensive. Will definitely be back.”

“Stopped yesterday for a Dirty Martini and really enjoyed the vibes here. Decided to get another drink. The other cocktails on the menu looked so good. Got their twist on french 75 which they put seasonal fruits in. The fruit used in my cocktail was Tamarillo, so yum. I also ordered the pull apart bread, was nice. “I've been looking for a proper pub that does a proper roast dinner since coming to these fair shores, and have come up fairly short to date. However, I think that has now been rectified - the Bridgman delivers both the authentic feel of a boozer (but in a classy way) as well as a damn fine Sunday roast. Everything here was brilliant, from the service, to the drinks selection, and the food was the icing on the cake. Even the much maligned cheese option was done well here and didn't cost $20 for two small bits of cheese, three crackers and some sour grapes. Would highly recommend this place, if you live anywhere near it, or a train station, come here, as it's only a short walk from Kingsland station, allowing you to build up an appetite along the way.”

“We had such a beautiful meal here for two, restaurant is very authentic and service was great. The vegetarian lasagna was amazing and best I have had in Auckland also my husband had the meat lovers pizza which was very good! We finished off with the baklava for dessert which was lovely. I would definitely recommend.”

“If I was just rating the Indian food, it would get 6 stars (I haven't had the non-Indian food yet, but there is a good selection). I recently moved here from the UK, and generally speaking curries in New Zealand are not as good as the UK, and my test dish - chicken Dansak is either usually not available or not good, but at Mainsail it was brilliant...best curry I have had since coming to NZ, hands down (and better than many I've had in the UK). My wife who is not a big curry eater, enjoyed her Tikka Massalla as well - they get the heat exactly as you request. There was a good choice of non Indian food as well, which we didn't sample. In terms of atmosphere, the interior of the restaurant where we have eaten both times, needs refreshing. The views are good, and with a bit of attention, it could be a great space. The main bar seemed OK, very much a bar, and the outdoor patio looked like a great place to sit when the weather is good, which it wasn't when we went. This is overall a good place, and will be somewhere we come regularly due to the location and the excellent curry. I doubt I will ever sample their non-Indian, which looks fines, because the Indian so darned good!”

“Decided to have a late lunch at 9bowls after a bloody hot day at work. I've ordered the Korean Fried Chicken set and it was delicious! The staffs was very attentive and caring, making sure I am well sorted. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy and breathes good vibes. Would definitely recommend people to come try 9bowls out.”

“The food was just spectacular. Every bite was another indulgent flavor to experience. I personally enjoyed the Lemon Leek Risotto, it was tangy and perfectly cheesy. The service was so nice and friendly. I sure felt welcome to have the delicious food. The setting is very cute if you enjoy two spaces coming together nicely. If not such a fan of the bar there is a more divided section of tables not visible to the bar. Both settings were very enjoyable. The walk into the restaraunt was very cute and gave me a good feeling, and the feeling was right! Enjoy your food and place at the same time. I really recommend it!”
