“I visited here on my last night in Auckland after seeing a show at Spark Arena. The staff were all really attentive even though it was a pretty busy nice. The place was decorated beautifully and there was plenty of places to sit. I had the Kawasawa cocktail and I really enjoyed it! All of their signature cocktails looked fantastic and it was so difficult to choose.”

“Finally made it to Hugo’s Bistro for their weekend dinner offer — I’ve always wanted to dine here, and this was the perfect excuse! We absolutely loved everything from the moment we arrived. The welcome was warm, and the host who looked after us made our evening feel genuinely special. The complimentary glass of champagne was such a thoughtful touch. The menu is beautifully curated, and every dish we tried was exceptional. You can really feel the care and craft behind the food and the service. Hugo’s, you’re truly deserving of all the accolades you’ve received. We can’t wait to return!”

“Authentic Italian on the beachside. I’ve come here twice now to try the pizza, and it’s always been good. They have some vegan options however they are not labeled very well on the menu so you will have to ask. Portion size for the vegan pizza was average, but the other food look well well portioned. Lovely staff and a great venue, excellent date location.”

Then had a second as was such a cool spot. Will be great when the CRL work is finished and everyone can spot this place behind the construction fences. “Really understated cafe and we saw of just stumbled across it this morning. They have three different coffee beans to choose from which works a lot better than the 10 different coffee types to drink (which all kinda taste the same). The coffee is amazing! My partner had a mocha which he said was the best coffee he'd had all year. I had a cappuccino which was perfection. There's a few options for food from the cabinet but it's just what's in the cabinet, which was fine. When we were there, they had filled bagels, filled croissants and a few sweet treats. We shared a salmon bagel and a ham bagel and they both were really good. The combination worked well and ours was toasted to perfection. So really, a winning breakfast for feeling miserable days! The backroom was something grand! When you walk in, there's all these musical instruments to play on (a few needing tuning) but there were percussion instruments, wind instruments, guitars, ukulele, and things I dont know the name of! They were also stacks of those old lead based books, along with paperbacks. So many different styles of writing and all inviting. Peculiar items like chess boards ( you have to see it to understand its peculiarity) and niknaks too. The service was very friendly and kind! The cafe doesn't look like it has it's own allocated parking but there was plenty of street parking.”

“This café is near my workplace, and I often stop by. It gets quite busy in the mornings. I tried an Aerocano here for the first time, and the fine foam on top was delicious. Especially when the boss makes it, the foam is beautifully crafted. (For Japanese coffee lovers who prefer black coffee, I highly recommend trying it, though it’s not listed on the electronic order menu.) Aside from coffee, I also enjoy the feijoa smoothie. I only discovered feijoa after coming to New Zealand, and it’s such a delicious fruit. The staff has changed a bit over time, but they always greet me with a smile. Thank you so much, as always!”

“We had an amazing experience at At 719! The food was top-notch — we ordered the 719 Big Breakfast and the Salmon Salad, and both dishes were absolutely fantastic. The Big Breakfast was generous and perfectly cooked — everything from the eggs to the crispy bacon and grilled mushrooms was spot on. The Salmon Salad was fresh, light, and bursting with flavor, beautifully balanced and plated with care. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was friendly and efficient.
