    Mungavin Hall

    ★★★★☆ 4.3
    Open

“The Main hall is huge! Plenty of tables and chairs. Excellent oven. Fridge was a good size to store food and drinks. Great bar area to set up kitchen stuff and prep food. You need to bring your own utensils, kitchen stuff and dish washing needs. There's no dish washer so it's best to use paper plates and cups as well as serving bowls that you can just chuck out. Thank god the Rubbish bags and bin were supplied. If you have 100 guests or under? It's best to hire the adjoining hall as the main hall is really huge. The Caretaker David was awesome to deal with, real good sort. You have to meet him at the hall to open as they don't give you keys, which is great..one less thing to worry about. Just make sure you have a sign saying private function on the entrance doors because it's on the main road and people walk in thinking there's housie or come to use the toilets lol but overall experience was excellent. Shops across the road and Chinese takeaway incase you need extras. Over all experience..Excellent!”

Clean n tidy area indeed.. lots of free parking area, clean toilet near the karori play center. But I think the maze area should be repainted. “Millar and Mary absolutely stand out women. I felt I was quite demanding as we arrived, and we had a few issues while there. Nothing but accommodating. I also noted an issue with our lane company, which was promptly fixed. My husband and I hadn't been on a date in a long time. This place made me want to go again. The staff should be highly recommended on their performance. Incredible! We'll be back when the beers are allowed to flow again!”

    Kilbirnie Park

    ★★★★☆ 4.3
    Open

“Kilbirnie Park is a versatile and well-maintained green space in Wellington, perfect for both recreational activities and community events. The park boasts spacious fields that cater to a wide range of sports, including rugby, soccer, and cricket. These fields are regularly used by local clubs, schools, and casual players, making it a hub for sports enthusiasts of all ages. The park also includes an athletics track, which is ideal for runners and athletes looking to train. One of the standout features of Kilbirnie Park is its family-friendly environment. There’s a well-equipped playground that’s perfect for younger children, offering a safe and fun space for them to play. The park’s wide-open spaces also make it a great spot for picnics or leisurely walks. It’s dog-friendly, so many locals enjoy taking their pets for a stroll. The park’s location is very convenient, being close to Kilbirnie’s shopping area, bus routes, and other amenities. The nearby Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre is an added bonus for those looking to swim or relax after some outdoor activity. While the park is generally well-maintained, the fields can become a bit muddy during the rainy season. Overall, Kilbirnie Park is a fantastic community asset, offering something for everyone—whether you're there for sports, family time, or simply enjoying the outdoors.”

“I have just stayed here over the weekend for a conference. Had a 3rd floor room, so quiet I forgot I was at the airport! The staff were amazing, nothing was a problem. When I asked for the room temperature to be lowered it was. When I rang for more toilet paper it turned up in 5 minutes. The à la carte breakfast is good value for money. Would love to go back one day even though I live locally!”

The food was great, the party house was great, but the best part was how friendly the staff were- it was so busy and they were still able to make sure we had everything we needed and more! They were so caring and made it such a special and easy day for us. Highly recommend Chipmunks Lyall Bay, thank you guys I am so grateful for help in making my girls day so special!”

“Good service needs recognition and appreciation. From Annabel I had a superb experience today in choosing both a card and paper for my daughter's graduation. I value perspectives from those around the same age when chosing gifts form my children. When selecting a card, Annabel was confident, and clear about the direction I should take, explaining the various persctives of different selections. Thanks to Annabel's perspective and help, I made the best, the right card choice on this important occassion. If I'd gone the way I had originally thought, I see, thanks to Annabel, how it would have been an emabrrasing mistake. So again, thanks for being of great service Annabel. Very much appreciated.”
