    I have been a member of the Upper Hutt YMCA gym for a couple of years now. Friendly helpful staff. Recently I travelled to Uganda. Long haul flights both ways with road travel there not comfortable. I was very surprised to find my weekly yoga classes n 2-3 times weekly strengthening programme's kept my body together and supple. Usually after 3 weeks away I notice stiffening in my lower back n hips. Thanks Jill, Deb n David.

    Absolutely love going to this gym! The staff are always so friendly and smiling. The facilities are top notch and the group classes are thoroughly enjoyable too. The membership has no contract which makes things so much easier especially if you’re going on holiday for a while. Couldn’t recommend The Y enough.

    Reasonably priced, great location, lots of parking. Very small but I needed the 24 hour access and my preference is weights. Very friendly staff and quick responses to queries. Family oriented in terms of classes and packages. Not the bells and whistles but that’s not what I wanted anyway!
