Short review; $13-$30 expected spending, generally around the $21 mark for a standard meal. Extremely tasty soul food, spices for all levels, everything on the menu is delicious I've been eating here most weeks for the last 6 months, so I thought it only fair to glaze them. Soul Shack is delicious - straight up. None of their sides have failed me, and I consider their Mac and Cheese, Fried Mushrooms and Fried Cauliflower to be the best Wellington has to offer in their class. Their main chicken burger is a staple of my diet at this point, for Mon-Wed they do a $13 lunch deal for burger and chips. Their chips are deliciously seasoned and their original sauce is extremely tasty, the burger is stacked with a fat piece of chicken and it's beautifully seasoned. Tastes great hot or cold, though the chips I definately reccomend more hot. The spice levels aren't for the faint of heart, level 0 and 1 are entirely normal, beyond that is for real spice lovers, and it's a great humbling experience. Service is extremely kind and pleasant. I actually sorted out a group dinner of roughly 40 people with the guys, and they catered so so well for us. Stayed open late to make sure everyone was fed, did a deal on meals, relatively social, it was so great Definately worth a shot, please try their lunch deal if you can afford the opportunity - you won't be disappointed

Best burger I've had in a long time! Can't recommend this place enough. I got the chicken burger and the chicken was so juicy, perfectly coated, with fresh salads. The chips came with this sauce that was sooooo good too. Everything was perfect and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Recommend giving this place a try!

This place genuinely packs some heat. We had chicken burgers and chips from here. I'll be honest and say that the Spice Level 1 was a bit much on the chips for me. The burger it was good. That was our own fault though as the owner definitely took lots of time to explain in depth the varying spice options, even allowing us a taste test before ordering. Even after taste testing I insisted on ordering Level 1. Personally I found this closer to a Western level of "Hot" rather than the "Medium" that I usually prefer. The burgers are of a great size and delicious. My son ordered the double and could barely hold it in his hands. The single burger is definitely more than generous enough, even for "big" eaters. If you don't like heat, just stay with the Level 0. What is fabulous here though is that they really do cater for all tastes so if you do like it spicy, this is a great venue. If you are someone who orders their curry (Western standard) Mild or Medium, it is probably best to stay with the Level 0. NB. Level 1 somehow seems more potent on the fries than it is on the burger. All that said, if I was a local I'd still come back and order the same burger, with the same spice level, all over again!

I tried their famous Boneless Bone Meal for the first time and fell in love with it: very generous portion, reasonable price, extremely friendly staffs. There are 5 different levels of spice to choose from, from 0 to 4. I love spicy food, so I went with level 4, which really tasty and delicious. It's not the type of spice that hurts your lips, mouth, or tummy, but the type that makes you crave for more, which is why I love it so much. The fries that came with the Meal are also seasoned, while the sauce went really well with it, really creamy. Definitely recommend.

So delicious. The wings were phenomenal. Got the Level 1. Don't go level 0, you NEED the spice. The white bread at the end is an authentic touch. The Jam Donut is mint aswell, freshly cooked. Go here!

I'm a seasoned chili eater. I absolutely loved the boneless meal with Carolina reaper (level 4). If you like chili then you need to come here so you can truly appreciate how well Carolina reaper goes down when combined with the juiciest chicken around and well complimented by that Nashville seasoning. From start to finish, my experience at your restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who were eager to assist me in selecting the perfect meal as it was my first time here. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. The chicken was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and ultra JUICY on the inside, with just the right amount of breading. And the spice! - mouthwatering just writing this review the next day. Overall, I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you're a fan of chicken and spicy food, you absolutely must try the Carolina Reaper chili chicken at this place (even the Habanero/Ghost Pepper version also available would have been delish). The combination of flavors is truly unique and unforgettable, and the service is outstanding - The frontman behind the counter was very down to Earth and kindly appreciative of both my custom as well as my request for something VERY spicy. Next time I'm in Wellington, I'm coming back to visit. Note: food in pictures may look small but they were actually very generous portions which took me all the way to dinner.

Delicious tender chicken and crinkle cuts chips. I was a chicken (pun intended) and went for the 0 but as I was waiitng I heard many warning about the heat of the chicken so be warned. The crinkle cut chips were great, I'm an Aussie and we don't get these often so I enjoyed them. The spice was perfect on them.

No frills kinda joint. Service was friendly enuf. BUT the Fried chicken was super duper good. I got the level 3 and level 4 and gave me a bit of a sweat. Chicken was juicy and tender. Good stuff.!!! I reckon I could go high level but 4 was their max. Still good though.
