“Good authentic Thai food. Prob best in Wellington, worth a try esp if you have been to Thailand a crave a fix. Best Phad Thai I have had in Wellington.”
“Fantastic service and yummy Thai food”
“Simply PERFECT !! We went there with my boyfriend and had the pad Thai and the Thai fried rice, everything was perfect from the service to the quality of the food. The server is very polite, respectful, the food tasted great honestly it’s a super place to have lunch !”
“Absolutely delicious tasty food! We love just love their dishes. The wonton soup with handmade wontons and pork balls has possibly the best broth I have ever tasted. I could eat this dish every day! If you love spicy chilli noodles then the spicy egg noodles with home smoked pork is a must. Just delicious. Portion sizes are good value for money. We visit them at the Christchurch Farmers market on at Saturday and also via uber eats on Thursday.”
“Excellent food, home style thai by a lovely family. Lots of fresh veg & great portion sizes. My fave takeaway in West Harbour”
“Very good place to eat. Food prices for mains around $30 with rice extra. 4 of us all had something different and we all enjoyed the food. Our young waitress was lovely. 2nd visit and will return.”
“We were looking for a Thai close to where we are, and we found this place. The food was very nice, authentic, flavourful, and fresh. They have a comprehensive selection of traditional Thai food. The atmosphere was good and the service friendly.”
“The service was great, a little bit hard to understand the specials, but our waitress was pleasant and gave me some recommendations. The food was delicious and a good portion, price was average to good. I would definitely go back to try more from the menu.”
“The Tom Kha soup was beautiful, very authentic however the Thai Basil stirfry let them down, it wasn’t authentic Thai Flavours plus they used frozen beans which isn’t ideal. Really lovely service, friendly and helpful staff. Nice place for a quick reasonable meal.”
“I love this place soooo much! Anytime been in Auckland always come here for Thai food! and especially the dessert! always yummmy!”
“BEST PAD THAI IN THE CITY! Joy Bong had recently moved to a more intimate location and some how the food is even better! Not only is it the best husband and wife combo in the city who have owned and operated this legendary business for 10+ years they will always make you feel like family. Service 10/10 and food is the best Thai you will find in Auckland, and trust me I eat out a lot. Jess, Kakapo Business Sales”
“Very well presented Thai food, always delicious.”
“My spicy seafood noodles was very tasty with large juicy prawns, squid & scallops. Priced a bit higher than street food/takeaway joints, it’s to be enjoyed seated dining inside the cosy traditional thai decor… Reminds me of how Thai restaurants used to feel… nowadays trendy canteen vibe is more common! Service is always casual & warm family style.”
“Glad we acted on the recommended suggestion to try out the truly authentic flavours, friendly service and traditional setting and welcoming ambience that this hidden gem has on offer, neatly tucked off the road from plain sight and true to their name. Experience the discovery of the delightful, delicate lighting, traditional displays and decor, as your arrival meanders through an outdoor / indoor maze-like garden-path through the restaurant into various pockets of dinning location options; either completely under the open sky or under the “rustic” roofing. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, service is prompt, courteous and on point. The auroras that drift through the open air will tantalise and explode on your senses, but, guaranteed each mouthful will excite your tastebuds as you enjoy each spoonful, till the very end. We were not disappointed and will most definitely be making a return on our next trip to Ōtāhuhu.”
“This was the first time i have been here. I had the green curry and pad thai, it was absolutely delicious , both full of flavour and lots of chicken. The lady serving im guessing the owner was very friendly and definitely had me leaving thinking you now have a new customer I can't speak more highly of this place, highly recommend”
“Got take aways for six people. Yummy food with a great range of spice levels. Was ready on time and a great temperature. Will definitely be getting taken away again!”
“Great Pad Thai and Chicken Na Kai. Really good flavour in the Pad Thai. Excellent service when answering the phone and picking up the food”
“The red thai beef curry was delicious. Perfectly cooked vegetables and the medium hot level of spice was spot on. Good, friendly staff.”
“First time tried & definitely won't be the last. Everything, from the online booking process to the payment at the end (& of course everything in between) was on point, easy & prompt. A friend recommended this restaurant to us & we're so glad she did. The staff & service were great, as was the food. We were seated & served promptly & all told, it was a 45 minute experience from being seated to leaving, yet we didn't feel at all rushed & we left wanting to return. I definitely recommend as a must try restaurant.”
“Wow is all I can say. I heard about Tuk Tuk thai over the years but we hadn't made it out of the city to try it. I am so glad we did as this was such beautiful Thai food. The atmosphere is lovely and you can tell that the owners put a lot of love into the decor. The service was great with friendly and attentive staff. But the food was the best Thai we've had in the wellington region. My husband and I both love Thai food and have tried most of the Thai restaurants in the wellington region, but Tuk Tuck Thai blew us away. The red curry is so silky, flavorful, and decadent and I felt like I was having a high end, luxurious Thai meal. The green curry was also very unctuous and flavorful with just the right hint of spice. The menu warns that both curry's come as medium, and we were a bit worried because we are not the best with spice, but neither were too spicy for us, so don't let that scare you off. We also had the roti with satay sauce and wow, the satay sauce is beautiful with great flavor, and one that you can tell is made in house. I 1000% recommend TukTuck Thai and if you have not tried it yet, please do, as you won't be disappointed. We are still talking about that meal the next day and cannot wait to go back.”
“Me and my partner tried Hobson Indian Takeaway for the first time, and we were really impressed. The food was absolutely delicious—especially the biryani and samosas, which were full of flavor and freshly prepared. The staff were very kind, welcoming, and accommodating, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“I see the modest rating on this place and I have to intervene. This is among the best Thai food that I have eaten in New Zealand and in my travels in the world. The curry gravies are rich and thick and full of flavor. The rice is perfectly done. The roti is perfectly done. I've been able to taste several dishes because I've had an extended stay in this area, and also many people staying here with me have also returned again and again to this restaurant. A+++, I have to really highly recommend this restaurant. It is excellent.”
“Friendly and quick service. The food was nicely presented and tasted amazing! The flavours were beautifully balanced. The atmosphere was good but a little too noisy for me.”
“Delicious Thai food in Chch and great service! Tastes just like home. Highly recommend this place✨✨⭐️”
“The green curry hit all the right spots on a cold winter day. Might be one of the best I've ever had. Can't ask for a better curry and service.”
“As a Singaporean who can hardly take spice (orders wei la mala), the flavours are great (slightly too salty if anything), mild spice level is really mild, but almost making me sweat. Portions are great, one main with rice can feed 1.2 people.”
“Great Thai restaurant in the Brighton beach centre. Near to the pier and the library. Foods are extremely authentic and the spicy dish salad are Thai spicy so make sure you are use to hot hot chili otherwise go for mild or no chili option. I loved the green curry and few other dishes. The owner are very hard working and loved her traditional dress too. Is definitely a good Thai restaurant in Christchurch that offer a taste of Thailand.”
“Chopsticks Restaurant is amazing, especially their lou sang and peng cai! The lou sang is super fresh, packed with flavour, and perfect for sharing—it’s seriously one of the best I’ve had. The peng cai is just as great, full of premium ingredients and so rich in taste. The food is top-notch, the vibe is chilled, and the service is on point. Highly recommend!”
