“Had an amazing breakfast here. The London fog latte was a little too sweet for me, but it was very delicious. The salmon bagel had an amazing portion of lox - it was very filling! Great atmosphere.”
“We went to the bring your baby “Lighthouse littles” session yesterday. The staff were absolutely lovely. As a new mum it was so nice to have such friendly and accommodating staff. They explained how it would work and offered their help if we needed anything. Will definitely go back :)”
“Wonderful new cafe, lots of animals and variety of landscapes such as streams, waterfalls, hills. Well worth visiting though take care on the narrow road to Staglands.”
“Hands down the best coffee I’ve had!”
“Mainly visit as my daughter is fond of bubble tea! But the place is generally very neat and it has a nice white relaxing decoration if you enjoy to sip your drink on site. The packaging of the drink is very attractive and it comes in a sealed disposable cup with a straw.”
“Lovely cafe. Good selection of brunch options including vegan meals. Coffee is also very good. Perfect spot for breakfast/brunch.”
Unknown Chapter Coffee Roasters favours a coffee‑and‑cabinet mix with clear, clean flavours. Packaging keeps things in good shape to go. Breakfast plates are tidy and satisfying. Serve sizes show solid value.
King of Snake runs with a classic fish‑and‑chips menu and a relaxed pace. Outdoors works well when the weather plays along. Vegetarian picks read as complete plates. Portions suit sharing without tipping heavy.
“I took a group of 8 ladies to Alpino on Saturday for a Luxe Day Out for my business Her Luxe Travel and we had a phenomenal time. Not only were Alpino great to work with to set up how I wanted the experience, on the day they delivered 110%. The food was to die for, service was friendly and efficient. We were sat in the area at the front that is somewhat closed off from the rest of the restaurant and it couldn't have been more perfect. Definitely glad I've chosen Alpino for my Retreat welcome lunches ☺️”
“Staying in our motorhome we must say we were impressed. From the check ✅ in, with Kirsten, and the advice and help we received from the start. A beautiful Holiday Park with everything so clean and tidy. The playground too, is well thought out for childrens pleasure during their stay. Very handy to the beach and rolling surf, our two small dogs were in heaven when we all went down to the sand. It is fantastic that the dogs are allowed to be with us on holiday during the off season. The showers were nice and hot water aplenty. A friendly little bunny was not at all worried about two highly excited dogs because it sat just outside their wire fenced yard and teased them. In all a great place to stay and we will be back. Thank you. Laurie and Carol”
“Really nice place and the combo coffee + scones starting from 8.30am is just perfect. Cakes and dessert are lovely I bought a few for family birthdays. But nice coffee and scones!! Combo coffee and scones no longer available. No WiFi available for guests I think that's a downturn also nowhere to charge your phone! Even kokodak nearby has few plugs customers can use. Not sure for me it's a downturn. I like going to cafes and work...”
Baba's Turkish Eatery favours a grill‑focused mix with clear, clean flavours. Plates offer plenty without weighing things down. Grill work shows a clean sear and rested meats. The team keeps things friendly and organised.
At Peak House, the menu stays burger-led, served with an easygoing pace. Outdoors works well when the weather plays along. Vegetarian picks read as complete plates. Value feels fair for the spread. Th...
“Absolutely love this place. Have come for multiple breakfasts and a dinner. A simple gozleme (try the egg or harissa chicken!) is a cheap breakfast that's so delicious. Their bread is made by hand everyday. Good coffee as well! A medium dinner plate between two of one meat (beef cheeks!!) and four veggies/salads, with some fresh pita bread and hummus was enough and great value. Can't rate this place more. It's just the kinda place you wanna come back to again and again.”
“My 9-year-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Drawing & Sketching class (Tue 3:45-5:15) with Maree. Learning to depict objects with pencil sketching added a technical dimension to her artistic skills. It was a great class for a 9-year-old who loves drawing, providing more advanced content rather than simplistic children's drawings. This class is highly recommended for kids who love drawing and want to boost their skills.”
“Steak & chips was interesting to had - love it! Love the menu and atmosphere, ordered brown butter coffee (not my regular) as was curious about it, taste great! 5-star for me definitely recommended!”
“I tried out the great new kitchen in Anastasis Coffee Roasters. It’s an interesting mix of Chinese/ Taiwanese, Mexican and American street food with baos, birria, fried chicken and churros on the menu. I had forgotten how good baos were and these got me back hooked with great flavours and textures. The tacos are as good as any other birria tacos I've tasted in Auckland and the fried chicken had just the right amount of spice kick and comes with dipping sauce. There's some seating inside and an outdoor area outback with string lighting. Great vibe. They are also looking to get a liquor license and other offerings in the future. The current kitchen hours different to the coffee store openings are Wednesday 11am-2pm and Thursday to Saturday 11am - 2pm, 5pm - 9pm. Definitely worth stopping by and trying out.”
“Tucked away in an inconspicuous side street. Menu is limited but exactly what you want, with very reasonable pricing. I had a 16 oz iced matcha latte with soy milk, and it was perfect. Mellow, slight earthy, and a touch of sweetness coming through from the soy milk. It’s one of the best street matchas I’ve tried.”
“The best family friendly Cafe. An amazing kids menu with options for every one, colouring for entertainment to keep them happy while they wait. The main menu had so many good choices - and the food was simply divine. Cabinet food also look so delicious. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and warm. A delicious breakfast out.”
“Small coffee shop on main street. Under new management, now making the best coffees in Birkenhead for the best prices! How can you go wrong for $2.50!”
“Excellent service and food. Meals came out quite quickly. The big breakfast had generous portions. Their hash browns are probably the highlight of the experience. The oats were wholesome and vegan options available for those who require it. The menu is limited but excellent. Coffee goes down just as well as the food. The freshly squeezed apple juice is perfectly balanced. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone after a fussy breakfast.”
“Lovely cafe in Takanini. Awesome service, right from the get go & it continued until we left. So much to choose from, but of course I had to give the classic eggs benny a go, it def didn’t end up classic at all! Perfectly poached eggs on a herb hash brown, delicious sauces. Highly recommended! Perfect mocha & banana loaf to end our celebratory meal. Would def go back to try the rest of the menu. Check this lovely eatery out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.”
“The toasted chicken club is a regular favourite, and I love seeing creative coffee art”
“Warmest service and lovely homely atmosphere! We popped in for a quick sweet treat and coffee. But the real bright spot was the spritely and warm lady at the counter who gave us a complimentary Thai salad to try (yum).”
“Locals suggested me to come here and oh boy - one of the best places in Wellington for sure! I can’t remember when I had a better toast than the one I got here. Lovely staff members, great food and wonderful coffee! Perfect atmosphere to come for a small bite or stay longer and chill ✨”
“Great staff, great atmosphere, they let me have a coffee in their uncovered courtyard which was a god send for the heavily autistic person that I am. 10/10”
“Just had the most amazing 3 course meal featuring Sri Lankan Hoppers. Incredible food, really lovely service and got to see the hoppers being made by the chef. The flavours were outstanding, highly recommend eating at the T Lounge by Dilmah. Keep an eye out for their specialties Thursday and Friday nights.”
“The meals are delicious and the lasagna name is the best I've had ! Trust me, I'm a foodie. Gotta say, love the customer service and everything about the guys who run this place! "Wellingtons best kept secret"”
“Writing a review purely just to say thank you for the exceptional service! My partner and I got the bacon and cheese scone, the honey focaccia and the caramel and banana (?) scroll today. The scone is always amazing, the focaccia was insanelllyyyyy good (please get it) but the scroll was a bit dry and was missing all four elements of what it supposedly advertised to have. My partner and I left the scroll as we were quite full and it wasn’t what we were expecting anyway. When staff came to collect the plate full of scroll scraps she asked me if everything was ok with it and offered to bring us something different to make up for it. I declined and she came over to give us free coffee vouchers shortly after. The manager came over and apologised too and thanked us for the feedback. Im super thankful to the team for being so kind and acknowledging our experience in so many different ways. Its quite easy to let things slide when you’re a bit shy, especially if you don’t want to come off as rude, so that persistence and self-awareness from the cafe is really impressive and defs noticed. Ive always loved Sixes and Sevens and my opinion of them wasn’t going to change based on this one scroll, but I absolutely think the world of them now!”
“On a Saturday morning around 9:00, the place was busy with the exercise crowd. Joggers and bicyclers were enjoying a coffee and socializing either before or after their workout. I was able to order a flat white and then find a table. A little wobbly but I was able to set up my laptop, connect to their wifi and spend a half hour or so plotting the next steps in my invasion of the North Island. After a bit, the place calmed down as most folks went back out to complete their walk/run. It returned to a peaceful and still slightly up-vibe coffee shop. Nice.”
