“Great coffee - worth the detour off the highway”
“Quite impressed with this little cafe, modest store front and setting. Coffee tastes good and delicious food, I rate the smoked salmon toast better than other restaurants. You can also feel good about their thoughtful food packaging and coffee cups. I will become a regular.”
“Excellent rich strong coffee. One of the best carrot cakes I have had. A true hidden gem. Superb latte art. Sun 1pm.”
“Small Flat White was made with care. Crema not disturbed. Very tasty. Lovely donut with passionfruit custard filling. Service was fast and attentive. Friendly, warm and inviting. Would happily return.”
“The staff here are very friendly, welcoming and they always serve good quality coffee and food. I appreciate the young lady barista who helped me today with her heartily understanding . That cup of Flat White and the chocolate saved my afternoon☺️”
“Great place with great coffee options. Staff is extremely friendly.”
“Love the sister cafe in Petone and this is no different. Service with a smile, great coffee, loads of keto and veg options available and most of all, brilliant indoor and outdoor seating available. There is also a couple of 15min parks right in front for a quick turnaround. Lots of free street parking available too if you plan to eat in.”
“Great place to grab a delicious coffee and go for a beach walk ! Coffee blend is fantastically good and nice they multiple options including non dairy milk, such as coconut, almond, oat , soy ! Love their coffee! Don’t be put off by the long queues on the weekends and public holidays, as they are quite efficient and turnaround is usually very fast. Owners always welcome customers with smile and make feel everyone welcome.”
The kitchen at Kai Connoisseurs takes a burger‑led path and lets the food speak. Value feels fair for the quality. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Stir‑fries keep good heat and snap.
“Great little posse with great coffee and wicked food. Passing thru? or local to the area deffs stop by to check it out ☺️”
“#coffee factory# Much more choices of the coffee beans. Filter, black,or white are all great. Flat white is rich and creamy.”
“Awesome hidden gem i came across by chance. Great coffee and vibes”
“Lovely staff, lovely bagels. Good prices and lots of alternative options/ add ons to the menu. Highly recommend the whipped feta; super citrusy and light; and anything with halloumi.”
“One of my favourite cafes in Auckland. The vibes and aesthetic are immaculate. Best of all though, the coffee is consistently so delicious. League above nearby competitors. If there were tiers in cafe world this would easily be an S-tier. 100/10”
“Definitely worth the 2-hour drive to find this cute cafe. I was craving for strawberry matcha drink and I read in reddit that this is one of the shops that they highly recommend. My first sip of the strawberry matcha is heaven!”
“Awesome burger bar! Enjoyed the food and the service was fantastic. Great location. Highly recommend”
“I have been visiting Purrs and Beans for about 4 years now, and it is my home away from home and my furr family. I adore the cats and cat slaves alike! Spending time with these beautiful kitties is wonderful cat therapy and so good for the soul! Come alone or come with others - it does not matter. They have Mewvie nights and Hobbies with Cats nights on some Fridays. They sell the cutest cat merchandise as part of their way for helping cover costs of caring for their permanent resident cats. They also foster kittens / cats and they adopt them out while following a strict process to ensure the cats are matched to the correct homes. Faith-Ashley, Shane and their team always put the cats needs first and take amazing care of them. The cafe also has a batista service with a variety of things to drink as well as basic things to eat like cookies, donuts, gluten free items, Macarons etc. Absolutely worthwhile Cat Cafe to support!”
“Excellent food great vibe fantastic fresh buns n pastry. Must go place for coffee lovers.”
“A hidden gem that offers the most buttery and delicious croissant.”
“This café is run by a lovely Korean owner who was very kind, and they had a great variety of unique coffee options that you don’t often see elsewhere. It was a busy morning with lots of customers, so I ended up playing it safe and ordered a long black like a fool — but my brave friend ordered the hojicha and absolutely loved it! The indoor space was small, so we sat outside. There was a super cute table set up on what looked like a traditional Korean-style platform, which gave off such a cozy, nostalgic vibe. With the fresh morning air after the rain, a peaceful view of the park right next to us, a beautiful cup of coffee, and a croissant — everything felt just perfect. Next time, I’m definitely going to try the black sesame coffee and the canelé. :) Thank you!”
“Great selection of GF and V food along with regular food. The sausage roll removed pastry so I could savor it! Have visited a few times in the last month. They change up the food offerings and always delights. Coffee is fabulous as expected.”
“We loved this place! The food was fantastic. Staff were lovely. Quiet and relaxing vibe. Highly recommend ♡”
“Surrounded by beautiful greenery, I discovered a warm and welcoming space where the longblack was as smooth and rich as the atmosphere itself. The kindness of the owner made the moment even more memorable^^”
“Great Coffee. Small cafe which hasnt got the room to cater for food. Coffee was excellent.”
“Wonderful tea selection, truly massive! And so many books, definitely worth a visit for a browse or a sit down. Had a lemon tart from the cabinet, which was yum. Staff were so warm and friendly, and very good at recommending teas. I will definitely be back!”
“Had the pleasure of tasting their coffee at a wedding I attended recently at Songbird Retreat. I had a cappuccino mocha, it’s a bit strong for my tongue but I realized NZ people love their coffees. I tried to their pastries too sweet for me. Thank you for your service.”
“I'm new to the area and I couldn't be more stoked to find such a gem so close to my place. The team are super friendly, make excellent coffee, and just brighten your day. I think I'm going to have to buy in bulk with the amount of times that we will keep going back!”
“I got the roast of the day and it’s the best coffee I’ve had this year”
“The coffee was amazing, very nutty and chocolatey. The food is also great, the hamburger uses chicken thigh which makes it very juicy and delicious. The fries are also great, very crunchy! The baked Spanish eggs is very flavourful and savoury, a very heart warming dish indeed, great if you’re looking for something that’s soothing and hot✨✨”
“Absolutely fantastic! Coffee is great. Atmosphere really easy and rustic (just as I love it. Something that I really loved is that they promote the use of your own cup instead of paper goblets (go green!) They also make their own pizzas. So far, the cheapest café I had in New Zealand”
