   I visited this roastery after it was recommended to me, as I had just purchased a new coffee machine and was hoping for some guidance in choosing the right beans and flavour profile. Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t what I had hoped for. The staff member I spoke with seemed stressed and not very interested in helping. I was told that it’s a personal choice and was simply pointed toward the shelves to read the labels myself and the explanation was very minimal. As someone new to this and genuinely looking for advice, I would have appreciated a bit more personal guidance or knowledge about the different beans. The place itself has a good reputation, so perhaps I just came in at the wrong moment. But my visit left me feeling a little unsupported, especially when I was hoping to learn more and make the right choice for my new machine.

   Ordered long black and oat mocha and these were served - everything just tasted bland, probably wasn’t extracted properly. My oat mocha tastes like warm milk with a dash of chocolate. Disappointed as other reviews appeared to have delicious coffee, perhaps its barista dependent, won’t return

   Nestled in between car mechanics and panel beaters is Coffee Lane, where you’ll find Excelso Coffee. Excelso is an oasis in the semi-industrial desert of this area. It’s only a five-minute walk from the heart of the city–but it might as well be a world away. They’re one of the originals in the Tauranga coffee scene, with an incredible reputation of producing fantastic coffee and excellent baristas. The vibrant green of the indoor plants on the wall contrast nicely with the corkboard panelling and polished concrete floors to create an inviting space that encourages you to sit, talk, and relax. From the right spot in the cafe, you can see the roastery in action. You’ll get lost in the meditative movement, sound, and smell of the roasting process. Coupled with the buzz of conversation, you quickly realize you’re not just drinking a cup of coffee, but really experiencing something more. Excelso has a big range of coffee on offer, with at least nine different options available for espresso, filter, batch brew, or to bag up and take away. Pair that with a great selection of sweet treats, toasted sandwiches, and smoothies on offer, you’ll be absolutely spoilt for choice. Excelso is also an absolutely amazing place to sit, chill, drink a coffee and listen to your favourite podcast. The Aunty Donna Podcast is my favourite one to listen to - with Broden, Mark and Zach, and sometimes some guests, they really hope you enjoy the podcast. People will look at your weird, cos you'll be laughing ALL THE TIME. 5 stars.

   A nice hidden gem. Some special local roasted coffe on offer, single origin as well as blended. The coffees we had where very nice. They also have all equipment you meed to make your own perfect coffee. Very high quality standard equipment. They had some sweets available as well. I like their no waste approach.

   Came here based on reviews and was not disappointed! 2 large flat whites to go... After a 15min drive coffees were still very warm so temp just right upon making! And goooooooooood coffee! A must place to visit if you are a coffee freak and visiting the area!
