“Lovely little place for some lovely food. A little undiscovered secret in Wellington. Friendly couple run the place, good service, clean and a great view of the stream if you sit down the back. Free parking out the front.”
“This owner works hard by himself pumping the orders out and our food is always really good!”
“Made us up the best big breakfast. Fast efficient service. Would recommend.”
“Best pies in Hastings HANDS DOWN! Without a word of a lie, these pies are amazing and a steal @ $5.50! Superb tasty fillings and the most delicious flaky, melt in your mouth pastry, I’ve tasted in Heretaunga. Great coffee at a very reasonable price too ($5.50 for XL Latte). I’ve also tried dine in - the Eggs Benedict was lovely and great value @$11.50. Super quick service too from this little local family owned/run business. My favourite!!!”
“A great find have been coming regularly as have been visiting hospital. Sandwiches are so fresh. Staff are very welcoming”
“Caversham's friendly little cafe in Hillside Road, loved by the locals.”
“The coffee is great, and the donuts are especially delicious!”
“Coffee is sooo delicious! The older lady that works there is super sweet and the other people are lovely too.”
“Genial little cafe that seems to be best known for home baked cakes (hence the name) . Very much an artisanal family business vibe. Only bought coffee but the cakes did look good. Interestingly the cafe is in the building where Plimmerton's first general store was.”
“Great place to have a catchup - cosy atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, good food (full marks to Brent and Steven cooking for us that day - the fish dish was amazing). I've met there with different groups of friends and they've all said they'll be going back. Ada, Shea and Parn made us feel so welcome, they are an asset to the business.”
“Best most freshest and tastiest sushi in Christchurch I have been here many times and I have never been disappointed by the quality, taste, freshness and also customer service. I will always make an extra effort to go there. I also love the table with extra soy sauce, ginger & wasabi (no extra charge) which is unheard of these days. Thank you for always being so lovely and making the best sushi xx”
“A relaxed and friendly atmosphere, good coffee, great gf options - not only brownies. And all at a fantastic price. You have become my new lunch spot.”
“Quick service and excellent cafe.”
“My son .daughter inlaw and I went for lunch today. Food and service were amazing as always .Highly recommended .”
“Small cafe located on the busy streets of Auckland, great place for coffee and a bite to eat!”
“My favourite local cafe. Food and coffee consistently good as is the service. The club sandwiches are healthy and tasty. Check it out!”
“THE HIDDEN GEM OF AUCKLAND!!! If you're looking for a place that delivers incredible flavour and quality at an unbeatable price, this small, unassuming spot is the one. It may only have four tables, but the food is what truly steals the show. We ordered lamb flaps, chicken, chips, and taro, and every bite was amazing! The lamb flaps were perfectly tender and flavourful, the chicken was juicy, and the taro added a unique touch that made the meal feel extra special. Despite its small size, it’s worth every minute of the 1-hour drive I made to get there! The best part? Our total bill, including a 600ml Coke, came to just $33, and both of us left feeling full and satisfied. This is the kind of hidden gem that you'll want to visit again and again. It's well-priced, the food is top quality, and the friendly atmosphere makes the experience even better. I can't wait to come back!”
“Coffee here is very good. Been here often and have never had a bad one. If you get a chance, go to this place, it's worth the money.”
“Best coffee I have ever had.... Wish more cafe's could be trained by this lovely lady, she is a fantastic reason to go and get your best coffee ever... I will be back...”

“Comfortable and cozy cafe with some of the best coffee I’ve had before. ☕️ Staff were warm and atmosphere welcoming.”
“What an amazing set up. The food is great, service was excellent and the space superb. With multiple areas to choose from, you want feel out of place. From the main area to the quiet cocktail area there is something for everyone.”
“Fantastic place. Fabulous food. The best granola yoghurt bowl ever. Service consistently good. Open on 2January and NO SURCHARGE”
“Had an absolutely amazing experience here! My partner and I have been travelling around and both wish we would’ve found this place earlier, before leaving Auckland! We went there for breakfast twice, and the food (egg Benedict & bacon and tomato bagel) as well as coffee (I had both iced and normal flat white coffees) was amazing! AAA+++, I would love to go back again someday!”
“Surprising night in Habibi Cafe, I live 45 minutes away from the city, it’s the only cafe/shisha open 24/7, came to buy some tobacco, the owner generously asked if I would like to join him smoking, with out hesitation I said YES, staff are very nice and welcoming, recommend 110% Will be coming more often. Loving it.”
“Came here for lunch the other day with a friend and I'm so glad I did. The workers were so friendly and polite, the food had big portions and were delicious. Star of the show was definitely the cake they sell. We got a slice of the green tea layered cake, the mango layered cake, and chocolate cheesecake. With the green tea crepe cake, they let the green tea be the main flavour, and not sugar which I often find a problem other cafes can't perfect. The mango layered cake had fresh mango layered between the crepes, and was both refreshing and sweet. Lastly, the chocolate cheesecake suprized me with how well they made such a simple concept so rich with flavour. Often, I find cafés make chocolate flavoured deserts to sweet, but they had a perfect balance of sweetness with the richness of the overall dessert. Overall, me and my friend definitely recommend this café to everyone, especially since they're open for many hours of the day!”
“Friend and Whau Cafe offers a relaxing escape, perfect for unwinding with good coffee and small snacks. Aside from its inviting atmosphere, a surprise awaits customers: a small, yet engaging, exhibition dedicated to the history and origins of Maungawhau (Mount Eden). The inclusion of a played video further enhances the experience, providing a dynamic and informative insight into this significant Auckland landmark. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy a beverage and soak in a bit of local history. I would highly recommend coming here during when you visit Maungawhau. Make sure to check their opening hours.”
“The nicest coffee! The food is delicious and the decor is lovely. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. Great outdoor space and big playground for the kids too. They allow dogs inside and out.”
