Great place to have a catchup - cosy atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, good food (full marks to Brent and Steven cooking for us that day - the fish dish was amazing). I've met there with different groups of friends and they've all said they'll be going back. Ada, Shea and Parn made us feel so welcome, they are an asset to the business.
I took my parents and a family friend to GBC Cafe for lunch and we were all impressed with the delicious food and drinks. I had a chicken panini and lemon & pistachio slice which were delicious, plus a small hot chocolate that was nice and chocolatey and a good size. Two others got the club sandwiches which were huge and came with chips. The fourth person got pancakes (without the bacon) which were also tasty. The mixed berry smoothie and Long Black were great as well. We had great, friendly service, too - including making changes to some meals as we ordered them (eg removing the bacon or cheese) and bringing us water for the table. We look forward to returning soon.
GBC Garden Bar CafΓ© is part of a hotel, so it isn't obvious from the street that there's a cafΓ© there. We found it by looking on Google maps for the closest place to eat after our walk around WaikΔkΔriki-Horseshoe Lake. We were the only customers for brunch on a Saturday morning, though they were clearly gearing up for a big lunch next door. I thought there was a good variety of cabinet food in the cafΓ© and it was reasonably priced. I took advantage of the $10.90 deal for coffee and a scone. That's not a lot cheaper than typical prices for coffees and scones, but enough to be a deal. The scone was really nice - very light and fluffy. It came with butter. My fruit tart and coffee were also very good. A couple of my friends felt their hot chocolates were not quite hot enough. Service was good too. I'd go again.
Used to visit here every week however, quality of Meals went down a couple of years ago, since then I've been there twice hoping for the old days to have come back but, they have not. Also, the price now is putting it out of bounds completely for Me.
Have been coming twice a week for a number of years. Great staff and service. Nothing is too much trouble. Feel welcomed, love the food and hot chocolate. Can't comment on coffee as I don't drink it.
Friendly staff. From simple club sandwiches, to a roast or coffee and cake all good. Prices to fit anyones budget. Tucked away.
Service very slow. 30 mins for 2 coffees a scone and a toastie!!β Scone served with Margarine. A very average scone. Cheese in the toastie had no flavour. The coffee was good.
Always enjoy visiting the GBC Garden Bar Cafe. Very friendly, efficient staff. Great hot chocolates (sorry can't comment on coffees as I'm not a coffee drinker) and a nice selection of fresh food available.
