“We did this tour while visiting on the Celebrity Edge. An amazing day out, Mateo (the owner/operator) is very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. I learnt a lot about New Zealand and Dunedin. An unusual payment system, you pay the booking fee ($7.50 pp), then at the end of the tour you pay Mateo what you think the tour is worth. An amazing day out!”
“Water taxi from ship to pick up at base of the castle. Lots of time to explore.”

“First time trying to control an airplane, it was soooo insane!!!! Love it!”
“Otago university - oldest university in NZ offering chilling weather, encircled with mountains, having lush green grass and amazing view of clock tower. Gift center provides you multiple options to gift your loved ones. Also, provides you an opportunity to buy something which marked with university of otago clock tower. Caps, pens, key rings, T-shirt, paper towel, and many more things are available. Loved to visit this place, and bought gifts for my friends. The receptionist was amazing, showed every possible options with a huge smile on face. Best place to buy gift which puts lifetime memory.”
“Absolutely the best tour! Our guide stopped for special shots with nature and wildlife that his keen eye saw, but we did not. Comfortable ride. Great commentary with lots of relevant history and info. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

“You can visit the world's only mainland colony of Royal Albatross at the tip of the Otago Peninsula in Dunedin, New Zealand. Small guided tours to a glassed hide allows viewing of some of the nesting albatross. To protect the albatross from human disturbance, the headland is not publicly accessible. You can see adults in flight with their three metre wingspans as they glide around the headland. The centre is free to enter but tours are charged. Uneven terrain, lot of walking. Toilets available. Cafes available on site. Before the walkabout tour, you are given a demonstration/lecture about the birds and the work of the centre. Popular with tourists. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Parking is easy. Amazing place to visit. Great place for photography.”
“We had such a wonderful time! We took the beach ride. Perfect timing and weather, the horses were suited to the varying experience level. The horses are obviously well loved. The property is an absolutely beautiful oasis with good vibes. Loved how personal it felt. Would def do again and worth the money”
“We have had so much fun here over the years that Animal Ark has been open, my kids love it and it’s it’s been wonderful to bring them somewhere to meet animals outside of our very grumpy old cat. The animals are always in great condition and happily pottering along waiting for some snacks. Owners/staff are really friendly, always explain the rules really simply and clearly to the kids. We’ve made so many cool memories here and I’m really grateful for that.”
“Great staff and volunteers helps you to meet your goals and ofcourse beautiful horses”
“Very helpful and patient, thanks Drew! (Ps we’re in Japan now, thanks for booking everything)”
“It's got a nice garage theme, but not uncomfortably. Tyre tread on walls, giant screw driver, nice mechanic theme. It's quite unique.”
“We stayed in our caravan for 2 nights for a wedding great place to stay cheap at $15 a night toilets are clean and tidy”
“We loved this tour. Darren our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate. Perry the owner also was very passionate and friendly. The scenery and wildlife were just wow. Their commitment to conservation is inspiring the little buggies are a fun way to get around and splashing through the mud was fun and we didn’t even get messy. The property and scenery is stunning. We saw a lot of seals, birdlife and the little blue penguins up close without touching or disturbing their habitat. Really highly recommend taking this tour and while there grab yourself a New Zealand made gift also and the coffee and muffins were very good.”
Tokyo House Restaurant favours a simple, bistro-style line-up with clear, tidy flavours. Plates offer plenty without tipping heavy. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Packaging keeps things crisp on arrival.

“Super tour yesterday. Only the 4 of us. Even though the weather wasn’t great, we still managed to see the seals. It was a beautiful hike down to the beaches, totally worth it! The view was just stunning and we would have never found these incredible places without our helpful guide. Thanks Lucy!”

“Chris is such a lovely and very experienced local tour guide and we were so happy that we booked our tour with him at the last minute as another tour was cancelled accidentally during our cruise ship trip to NZ. It’s great to go with a small group in a comfortable Van. Really recommended if you are a cruise ship passenger or want to explore Dunedin within few hours.”
“Did the Bathurst 2022 trip, this was after two canceled trips due to Covid restrictions. David kept up up to date over 3 years to get us there, the trip was awesome, hotel was great, the whole trip was so well organised I don't think 5 stars is enough!”
“Asta was very accommodating and enthusiastic about Dunedin and the Otago Peninsula. She picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. She was able to show us not only the highlights of the city of Dunedin but managed to also show us both the Penguins and the Albatrosses on a beautiful sunny day. Highly recommend Fantail Tours in Dunedin.”
