“This is one of my favorite Thai places in canterbury. If you live outside of lincoln, it is worth the drive in to try this place. I have had the pad Thai twice and the crispy fish which comes highly recommended. Don't be afraid of the spiciness, get the medium! Beef cheek curry is to die for.”
“Absolutely delicious tasty food! We love just love their dishes. The wonton soup with handmade wontons and pork balls has possibly the best broth I have ever tasted. I could eat this dish every day! If you love spicy chilli noodles then the spicy egg noodles with home smoked pork is a must. Just delicious. Portion sizes are good value for money. We visit them at the Christchurch Farmers market on at Saturday and also via uber eats on Thursday.”
“Me and my partner tried Hobson Indian Takeaway for the first time, and we were really impressed. The food was absolutely delicious—especially the biryani and samosas, which were full of flavor and freshly prepared. The staff were very kind, welcoming, and accommodating, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“I see the modest rating on this place and I have to intervene. This is among the best Thai food that I have eaten in New Zealand and in my travels in the world. The curry gravies are rich and thick and full of flavor. The rice is perfectly done. The roti is perfectly done. I've been able to taste several dishes because I've had an extended stay in this area, and also many people staying here with me have also returned again and again to this restaurant. A+++, I have to really highly recommend this restaurant. It is excellent.”
“Friendly and quick service. The food was nicely presented and tasted amazing! The flavours were beautifully balanced. The atmosphere was good but a little too noisy for me.”
“Delicious Thai food in Chch and great service! Tastes just like home. Highly recommend this place✨✨⭐️”
“The green curry hit all the right spots on a cold winter day. Might be one of the best I've ever had. Can't ask for a better curry and service.”
“As a Singaporean who can hardly take spice (orders wei la mala), the flavours are great (slightly too salty if anything), mild spice level is really mild, but almost making me sweat. Portions are great, one main with rice can feed 1.2 people.”
“Great Thai restaurant in the Brighton beach centre. Near to the pier and the library. Foods are extremely authentic and the spicy dish salad are Thai spicy so make sure you are use to hot hot chili otherwise go for mild or no chili option. I loved the green curry and few other dishes. The owner are very hard working and loved her traditional dress too. Is definitely a good Thai restaurant in Christchurch that offer a taste of Thailand.”
“Chopsticks Restaurant is amazing, especially their lou sang and peng cai! The lou sang is super fresh, packed with flavour, and perfect for sharing—it’s seriously one of the best I’ve had. The peng cai is just as great, full of premium ingredients and so rich in taste. The food is top-notch, the vibe is chilled, and the service is on point. Highly recommend!”
Saigon Centre Vietnamese Restaurant favours a pan‑Asian comfort mix with clear flavours. The team keeps things friendly and organised. Dumplings and bowls carry clear, direct flavours. Serve sizes show solid value.
Tai Tapu Hotel Restaurant, Bar & Function Venue keeps things coffee‑and‑cabinet and focused on flavour. Pricing lines up with the offer. Portions are generous yet well judged. Service stays present without fuss.
“Our large group enjoyed superb service and each of us was impressed with the dishes we chose. Each was beautifully presented and tasted delicious.”
“Although the space is a bit small, but the foods were great, I love Thai salads; the price is acceptable. Incredibly friendly staff and owners. The service is great”
“Popped in for lunch today, BEST Thai food I have ever had! Great customer service too”
“Best Thai in town. Consistent, full of flavour, fresh, well priced, large portions. Great service”
“The food is delicious and tastes just like in Thailand. The staff are also very friendly and provide great service!! Highly recommend!!!”
“Little and cozy place so feel like home. Food is tasty and served quick. The green curry is almost $30 but it's a super big portion, good for two people. Wish they have the entree size suiting solo traveler like me.”
“I read the reviews before we went out to dinner, and they weren't wrong. Do not be distracted by the look of the restaurant inside or the ice cream ( which by the way is so good). But this Thai has amazing authentic Thai dishes that taste so good. Fantastic value.”
“Really special place we’ve been going to for years. The owners are lovely. One of them is the chef and they make sure everything is fresh and the oil is changed regularly and the front desk lady is welcoming and always remembers your name”
“Me and my husband had our lunch first time here at Zaffron. There are so many to choose from! We ordered green curry(chicken), roasted pork with noodles, spicy ribs and crispy spuid. Everything were tasty and flavorful. We definitely come back again soon!”
On the plate at Money Bags Thai Takeaway, the idea is simple, bistro‑style and well judged. Provision for coeliac diners is noted. There’s always a considered veg choice. Plates offer plenty without weighing things down.
“We celebrated valentine's day there last night. Service was very good. Felt very spoiled with the free chocolate covered strawberries & box of chocolates. Thank you for making our evening so special.”
“Came into dinner for our mums 60th, and the food was immaculate. Fresh, hot, big plates, very flavoursome, good amount of veggies, well presented. Service was great and people in the kitchen are very nice. Support local guys, you won’t be disappointed!!”
“Got Thai hot lamb chef special. Was Beautiful dish full of meat and vegetables and a great sauce with heat. Also got the Curry Puffs and they were also very good.”
“Fully enjoyed my stir fry noodles here — great flavor, fresh ingredients, and perfectly cooked! Definitely coming back again.”
“This is as good as it gets. Really good Chinese food. Authentic Chinese and kiwi favourites as well. Nice, friendly service. Bathroom has had a major, much needed upgrade. In fact the whole place has been upgraded. We will definitely be back. From the way that the other customers (four different groups, two Chinese, two kiwi) related to the staff, you could tell that they weren't there their first time. It's a good sign when customers come back. We had the curry chicken, cha shao pork (much bigger dish than in the menu photo), Fu Yong egg (omelette thingy) and stir fried veggies. All delicious.”
“We started our trip in South Island, New Zealand by having dinner in here. During our 2 weeks trip, this is the best Thai restaurant we ever had. Before we fly back to our home, we finished our trip by having another dinner. Red curry fish and sweet chilly fish are very recommended as well as the Tom yum soup. The staffs are very kind.”
“I eat here at least once a week. I’m a real big supporter of Thai food and I must say the food is absolutely delicious, it’s well priced and the customer service is absolutely first class.”
“High quality very nice. Good service, clean area, kind staff, excellent food, fast serving times. Definitely recommend this place to eat at. We had a completely vegan dinner and it was beyond good — great noodles, and HIGHLY recommend getting the green curry.”
