Disappointed, would no longer recommend. This use to be the best place for it's Thai Green Curry, my absolute favourite, full of flavor and balanced spice. Now it is completely tasteless, zero spice followed by a horrible powdery texture. The egg fried noodles were also tasteless and soggy. For a restaurant to also be using frozen vegetables, charging the price they are for tiny portions, is ridiculous.

Ordered from Thai Box and really enjoyed their Thai salad — fresh, flavourful, and well-balanced. The red curry, however, was a bit on the sweet side for my taste, so not really my cup of tea. Portion-wise, both dishes were generous. I ordered through UberEATS, and the deal they had made it quite affordable. Overall, a good experience.

One star (NOT FOR THE UBER DRIVER) I’ve never written a bad review before, and I’m not someone who usually complains—but after my last few experiences with Thai Box, I felt I had to say something. I used to love their Thai green curry. My first two visits were amazing: great flavor, perfect spice balance. But the last three times? Completely different. The spice levels are all over the place. Mild has absolutely no flavor—just bland. Medium? It’s so unbearably spicy, it’s inedible. I spent over half an hour trying to pick out chilli seeds just to make it remotely edible, and still couldn’t finish it. I even called to complain—something I’ve never done before—and was told, “We do apologise for that. So sorry.” And that was it. No real solution or care shown. It’s just silly how inconsistent and extreme the food has become. Disappointed and done.

Very authentic Thai food! Super delicious and I love the interior of the store! Very well priced food with large portions and very kind staff! My new favourite Thai restaurant. The pad krapow (stir fry chilli basil) tasted like it had Thai basil too which is uncommon to find in NZ

Overall awesome place to eat, but very strict on BYO also not super consistent either, my friend who made the booking called and heard from the manager that cider and beer was allowed, however another friend received an email advising only wine was allowed they each checked twice and each received the same answer as previously said so I arrived with Cider had plenty of it before It was very abruptly and rudely confiscated with no words or anything. Apart from the one staff lady who snatched the cider without a word everyone else who worked there was super friendly, and accommodating, and the food was 10/10 DELICIOUS! Would definitely return but have to say 100% do not bring anything else but wine here. But still a highly recommended place by me!

Excellent meals at very good prices. Some of the best Thai food in Christchurch. Lunch for $15 is fantastic.

Delicious vegan meal which arrived quickly. The lighting was a bit harsh above the tables but we found a nice spot in the corner. Would eat there again :)

The food was pretty good overall. The yellow curry was delicious, the Tom yum noodles were ok, the Pad Thai tasty. The drinks were expensive. The ambiance is fine, modern clean restaurant, easy to speak to the rest of the table, no flair though. Service was good, polite, efficient.

High quality very nice. Good service, clean area, kind staff, excellent food, fast serving times. Definitely recommend this place to eat at. We had a completely vegan dinner and it was beyond good — great noodles, and HIGHLY recommend getting the green curry.
