“Had a wonderful stay here. My partner and I moved down to Christchurch so I can study at the university. We had nowhere to go and Colonial Inn offered us longterm accommodation. The staff were very welcoming and understanding of our situation. We are so grateful for the team. It's also really close to city center and bus stops nearby for anyone visiting. 10/10 recommend. Would definitely stay again if we move and come back to visit one day. Good affordable accommodation and lovely staff members.”

“Stayed here before flying out of Christchurch. Uber is around 50nzd to airport. Owner was amazing and loved some banter! Very accommodating and even though he had over bookings (because of third party booking apps) he made it work for us. Rooms are simple but have everything you need. There is a bar at the front and the staff are lovely there too. True kiwi hospitality! Chur!”

“My family and I have stayed at different motels over the years, and this one is our favorite by far. My youngest is on the spectrum and this place is his absolute favorite place. He is especially fussy about alot of things, but this motel just seems to relax him. My other children just love the vibe the rooms have. The staff are friendly and it's relatively close to shops. Given the chance, my kids would live at Tui lodge. Fantastic accommodation.”

“Absolutely stunning place to stay the view is what makes this place amazing!! Friendly and helpful people. Nice and warm room with everything U need including a washing machine. Cool little balcony to enjoy the warm sun or a nice meal. Lots of little walk tracks to walk down to the beach. I do recommend ringing before you get there to get directions to the property. “Sally was very accommodating after we had to book her bed and breakfast at the last minute and at a late time. The place itself is beautiful, set on beautiful land surrounded by farm animal's and a lovely view. it was so nice that we ended up booking an extra 3 days as me and my husband could not get enough of the view and experience at Gem. Sally also went out of her way to drive me and my Husband to get a rental car the next day. We cant thank Sally enough for her hospitality, kindness and being so very accommodating. we will definitely stay here the next time we come to NZ”
