It is not expensive especially for the size of the portions. The coffee was smooth and very nice. Definitely worth a visit even if it means a detour.”

“Outstanding customer service, friendly, staff followed through with my complicated order. Then to our surprise we were overwhelmed with the attention to detail. I personally loved the micro greens and swirl of beetroot for presentation. All three of us gave five stars for the size and taste of our brunch. Coming from Christchurch for the short drive was well worth it. You won’t be disappointed!”

“How easy is it to have a function at “Paris for the Weekend”? Very easy, select your menu and relax! My group of 26 family and friends gathered for French High Tea recently and while some would have liked more of the sandwiches and savouries, the food that was presented was very well received. Although the very large scones detracted from the dainty smaller pieces. We were hosted by Cat and she provided first class service and attention. Nothing was a bother. She was very friendly and efficient and delightful to work with. Thank you Cat. Certainly would recommend “Paris for the Weekend”, whether it be just for a coffee or a group function. “Came here for the first time today after reading heaps of good reviews, and I have already recommended this place to friends and family. The selection of sweet and savoury items was great, there really is something for everyone. The fruit and custard tart I had is the best one I've eaten, the variety of fruits on it was impressive and the pastry and chocolate base was delicious. For savouries I had the spinach and feta quiche which was also yummy. Cosy atmosphere and I highly recommend this place!”

“Good coffee and tasty treats, a breakfast menu, sweet and savoury pastries and special meals Saturday evenings. Vegan treat options that I’ve enjoyed include the raspberry slice, ginger slice, brownie ball and a delectable, apple-and-cinnamon scroll. The scrambled-tofu on toasted sourdough (choice of bread) was very good too, served with dukkah and tomatoes. I’ve also attended a three-course vegan dinner: delicious, leek-potato soup with croutons, lentil shepherd’s pie and sticky toffee pudding with coconut-milk ice cream. Now licensed for beer and wine, including both non-alcoholic and regular Budvar, a classic Czech beer. More seating upstairs. Pleasant service.”

“Went for lunch today at Raspberry Café. I’ve been to this place many times and have always loved their cakes — they’re my favourite! Today I found out the café is now under new ownership, which is great to see. The service was excellent, and I really appreciated that the new owner personally visited tables to check in with customers and get feedback — a wonderful touch. They have plenty of hospitality experience, and I’m excited to see some new items showing up on the menu soon.”

I came here to leave a glowing review after I made yet another great coffee from Hummingbird OOMPH! beans. I also enjoy the Nectar blend. The beans always seem to be fresh out of the packet and I suspect the foil packaging is better than other supermarket brands. Really impressed with this coffee.”

“Saturdays Cafe is a hidden gem! Tucked away by He Puna Taimoana Hot Pools, it's New Brighton's best kept secret! A matcha lovers dream. I had the Iced Strawberry Matcha and Matcha French Toast. Both had very good, strong matcha flavours in them. The French Toast had dollops of matcha cream cheese, chocolate, and caramel sauces, making it a very sweet treat. Yum! The cutest little cafe. Beautiful views of the New Brighton Pier. I absolutely love the decor. Staff were so lovely and provided a warm atmosphere.”
