“Don't be fooled by the cheap price! This is an A+ course. 2 x 5 hour sessions ( or 1 x 5 hour session if you cant lay aside the whoel weekend ) of full contact self defence. Charlie walks the line tactfully between providing some physical stress to somewhat mimic a real life situation and being understanding that people will bring a range of experiences to the course. I did this with my 13 year old daughter who now has the skills and attitude to survive if the worst happens. She loved the course and it was a great bonding weekend for us. Highly recommend!”

“First and foremost the educators at Magic Kingdom in Blockhouse Bay are the most wonderful, genuinely caring nurturers. My little ‘pandemic baby’ had a total of three play dates before starting daycare at 11 months old and they made they transition for him (and me!) a positive and stress free experience. The core values and beliefs of Magic Kingdom align to my own as a parent, and knowing that my child is receiving a quality education based on those principles is important. I feel that the educators are just as invested in my child’s growth as a whole person, as I am. “I have followed the IOAI for many years and watched the Institute develop into an all round - open minded club that throws politics out the door and lets students learn at their own pace and their own competent level no matter what style they practice in their own dojo. I have brought a few of my own students to his seminars that are packed with so much information and training ideas from some very high tier instructors who are more than willing to help out any and all visitors. Head instructor Sensei Dunken Francis is not afraid to pressure test any techniques and look at cross-training with other styles, something not often found in the dojos with old style attitudes. “The first thing I want to say is how lucky I was to make the right decision. My son is three years old, and before that I visited a lot of places and did a lot of research. I knew a little bit about the environment before I came here and courses are great. I didn't expect too much for the teachers to be so friendly and responsible. For me, the feelings and experiences of children are more important than anything else. Because my son has not attended any day care before, his native language is not English, and his grandmother often takes care of him went back home for a period of time, which makes me worried about whether he will adapt to the new environment. All teachers, the front desk staff and the centre manager all understood my concerns and cooperated with each other to help my son to adapt faster and better. After two weeks transiting,my son is happy to stay and not crying after we drop him off. I am really grateful to the teachers there and this is the most responsible place I have encountered. They will understand the parents' thoughts and concerns, and work together, everything is for the sake of the child. Hope my son will have a wonderful journey in kakapo creek.”

“Joining TwerkItOut classes has been one of the BEST choices I've made. My confidence has grown tenfold and I've met so many amazing hype queens. I thought it would be something I tried out once to get out of my comfort zone, but from the first class I was blown away by how fun and supportive everyone was and I've been a regular since! Abbi and Shelley are so amazing at breaking down all the moves and explaining everything, and really take the time to make sure you are feeling good. Love this space!”

The sessions are fun and interesting, and Marko goes beyond and challenges our son to work out the answers for himself.”

“Highly recommend DBK, the staff are warm, welcoming and take great care of the kids. The outside space is large with plenty of play equipment, perfect for kids who love being outdoors like mine.
