“Had the best experience at Proper Pizza, all thanks to Nithya! Her service was honestly next-level, so kind, friendly, and genuinely caring. She made everything feel so easy and welcoming. And the pizza… wow. Tasted like proper firecooked perfection. Crispy, smoky, and insanely tasty. The vibes in the place are super cozy too, making it the perfect spot to chill and enjoy good food especially with mates. Nithya really made the visit unforgettable with her energy and attention to detail. Can’t recommend Proper Pizza enough, and if you go, definitely ask for Nithya, she is amazing!”

We were a party of 11 and all our meals were made within a reasonable time from ordering. The decor really adds to the experience. I look forward to going back when I'm in the country and in the mood for great quality Indian cuisine.”

The eye fillet steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and served in a generous portion. The salmon was also excellent, fresh and full of flavour. Drinks were well crafted and very enjoyable. Service was absolutely top-notch—special thanks to the manager and the Japanese staff member, Kanu, for their warm hospitality. Everything came together to make it a truly memorable night.”

“Today I recommend this shop to everyone. It is a treasure shop with conveyor belt sushi. The ingredients are fresh and the service attitude is super good. It is recommended to call in advance to make a reservation on weekends, otherwise you will have to wait a little longer. It is so delicious. I will come again next time.”

“Just moved into the area and delighted to find a most excellent Indian just around the corner - an unusual finding in Auckland, which suffers from many bland, sugar laden and flavour-free curry houses. Shahi’s food is flavour-rich, perfectly proportioned and of excellent value. Loved the goat curry - rich, creamy and properly spicy as ordered. Service was prompt, friendly and engaging. As new locals Shahi will become our new local and we’ll definitely be back. Yum!!!”

The staff went above and beyond to make the night special, their service was friendly, attentive, and made everything run smoothly. The food was incredible (especially the tacos!) and the drinks were amazing. The atmosphere was fun, vibrant, and perfect for a celebration. A massive thank you to Bobby and the Ghost Donkey team for making it an unforgettable night. “This place is really great, and I have had an awesome experience and will probably be coming back soon. The atmosphere is cozy and pretty, and the service is friendly and helpful. I had vegetarian dishes like the vegetarian giozas and the tofu salad and found them very delicious, and the people I ate with had foods that contained meat such as the pork belly and the tiger prawns, and they enjoyed them a lot as well. We also had the Hiuse Sundae, and we loved it. It contained a new and interesting type of food which we had never tried before like the matcha ice cream, the black sesame ice cream and the yukimi daifuku, and it was so different than any dessert I've ever had, it was so great. My personal favourite dessert was the sweet, hot banana and chocolate spring roll. In short, this place is fantastic, it was a great experience and I warmly recommend it.”

“Walked into a hidden Gem in Kingsland. I’d never heard of this place but is a quaint Bar & Eatery that I have raved about. Started lunch with a few glasses with the view of the back of Eden Park. Steak meal was juicy and full of flavour then our sharing plates Macaroni and Cheese with Bacon as well as Spicy Chicken went down a treat. Seemed as if I inhaled the food. Owner/Manager is a cute and outgoing. Didn’t come across as a robot but actually gave us his time. Also knew what he was talking about re menu as the food was devoured in peace (Thats when you know its good and also tasty)”

It is a lively spot, but I managed to get a table straight away with no wait, which was a bonus. Staff were friendly and attentive.”

“I have tried so many places to find the best dumplings in Auckland and I found them here! The pan fried chicken and chives dumplings are so good, it pairs very well with their house made chili oil. We’ve also had their yang chow rice and fried pork and pineapple with sweet and sour sauce - taste, portion, price = 10/10! Have been twice and so far the quality’s consistent. Happy to have listened to others’ great feedback about Mr. Zhou’s.”

“We came here for dinner on our first night in Auckland and it delivered! Niro and her team were gracious to seat us close to closing and quickly took our orders and served us. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to eat here as part of our honeymoon. The drinks were crisp and the food was incredible. I ordered the pepper steak and my husband ordered the spaghetti bolognese per the staff’s recommendation, and neither of us could stop eating and cleaned our plates. Not to mention the privacy the booth seating provided and the joyous Christmas decor! Highly recommend stopping in if you have the chance.”

The takeout is cold so you have to heat it yourself, but its 1000% worth it.”

“The server was very nice, and the overall atmosphere and decor of the place was more business-y than just relaxing. I felt like the music was on the louder side as well. The eggs benedict was delicious (the hash brown was SO crunchy, and I could cut it with my knife as well), and the matcha latte was alright, though it was more on the sweeter side than I would've liked. The food was on the pricier side (which was to be expected in CBD). I'd recommend going with colleagues or friends/dates that prefer more middle to high-end looking cafes. There were lots of space, but most tables were suited for 2 people.”
