  1. Feli’s Cabana ★★★☆☆

Mr. Zhou Dumplings – Mt Eden The atmosphere was really nice — clean, tidy, and comfortable, with a pleasant vibe. Presentation-wise, the food looked great when it arrived, and the plating was well done. In terms of taste, however, the dishes were a bit on the bland side. I ordered the steamed pork, chive, and prawn dumplings. They were okay, but lacked seasoning and depth of flavour — I’d rate them around 5.5/10. The sizzling beef with black bean chilli sauce looked impressive, but again fell short on flavour. The combination fried rice had a good amount of vegetables, which was nice, but similarly lacked flavour. Overall, a tidy place with good presentation and a pleasant atmosphere, but the food could benefit from more seasoning and bolder flavours. Overall rating: 6/10.

Definitely had higher expectations than what we got. The sour cabbage stew took 30-40 minutes and no one told us. We finished all our other food and was ready to leave when this arrived. No communication. They were just preoccupied with another big table that seemed to be friends with the owner. The beef was tough and stale. Not velveted and lacking flavor except for saltiness. Disappointed. Won't be back especially with so many options around.

Came in Saturday around 2PM. Parking on main and side streets. Great as very few patrons; the place is usually packed during dinner. Nice place, simple decor, long tables so seating elbow to elbow if full. Would have wanted smaller tables - there were a few. Complementary tea in a pot was served. Ordered beef fried rice, the popular steamed pork and chives dumplings and stir fried squid. Took around 10 mins, dumplings served first. Tender juicy meat hugged by soft dumpling skin, enhanced with chili oil, vinegar and soy sauce dip. We almost finished the fare when squid meal came, followed by fried rice. I swear it was the best stir fried squid I had, perfectly cooked and seasoned with spices, onions and leeks. The fried rice was great too, with soft beef slices, peas and grains. Overall a great food experience. Hoping for the opportunity to return.

I have tried so many places to find the best dumplings in Auckland and I found them here! The pan fried chicken and chives dumplings are so good, it pairs very well with their house made chili oil. We’ve also had their yang chow rice and fried pork and pineapple with sweet and sour sauce - taste, portion, price = 10/10! Have been twice and so far the quality’s consistent. Happy to have listened to others’ great feedback about Mr. Zhou’s.

Good dumplings and chicken noodle soup. But the combination fry pancake was below average, very chewy.

Was just looking for a random place for dumplings and choosing this place was the best choice. I ordered the wonton soup which was so worth the price, there was so much for what I paid for including the dumplings I ordered too. Great prices, much cheaper than I actually expected it to be. Amazing food, amazing staff, will definitely return again.

Lots of menu choices at great prices. We were immediately served tea (complimentary) and when the food arrived the portions were large and delicious! We were the only people eating in (Thursday night) but there were quite a few picking up takeaways. Would absolutely recommend.

I always enjoy getting takeaways from Mr Zhou's Dumplings - Mt Eden. The food is delicious, served quickly and reasonably priced. The staff is also friendly. The picture is of fried lamb with cumin and braised eggplants with brown sauce (my favourite dish).

All the dishes that we ordered were decent. The eggplants dish was really good. Dumplings were nice too. Sizzling prawn and fried squid were salty. Food came out quite fast. The price is also reasonable. Will come back again in the future.
