We dined at the Hi-So cocktail bar on level 16 as an overflow from the restaurant. It was a reservation for 2 for the special Christmas Buffet. The venue was lovely, was less busy than the restaurant, it had a beautiful view. Meat carvery station was all overcooked, ribaye was well done and I prefer mine rare. No utensils for seafood which makes difficult eating as there were whole prawns, small mud crab and crawfish (both have hard exoskaleton) the Wild Wheat focacia bread was dry and stale rather than light and fluffy (I usually order this weekly so know the quality should be much better) , tasted like packet lemon desert, tiramisu tasted like sponge cake, little liquor and almost no coffee. Tomatoe soup soup was too sour. They did not supply clams and crayfish as advertised. Salmon and oysters were devine, the baked salmon was cooked beautifully, some parts a little dry but had nice flavour. There was 3-4 options for salad selection. The options were underwhelming for the price. Not much verity for $170 @ the 10% discounted Accor+ members rate. Defiantly would not pay $198 for that meal as you could pay less somewhere else for better quality and more verity. Overall it was not terrible, some of the food was great but things cooked in house seemed quite disappointing in taste and execution. Most of the food was mediocre.

We stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet and relaxing the atmosphere was. Service was prompt and welcoming, we were seated straight away with drinks on the table in no time. We started with three entrées, and honestly, they were the highlight of the meal! Each one was delicious with surprisingly generous portions that set the bar high. Unfortunately, the mains didn’t quite live up to the start. The chowder was fairly average, and the steak missed the mark, I ordered medium but it came out closer to well-done, with the fat not properly rendered. The plating also felt a little uninspired; for $42, the small side salad of five leaves didn’t do the dish justice. Desserts were also mixed. The crème brûlée was a let down, it came served in a mug with a dense, eggy texture rather than the smooth, creamy consistency you’d expect. On the other hand, the tiramisu was a winner: light, flavorful, and very enjoyable. Overall, I’d say this place is a bit hit and miss. The service was excellent, and the romantic harbour views definitely make it a lovely spot for a meal. With a little more consistency in the mains and desserts, it could be something really special.

Harbour Society is a must-try in Auckland! The food, views and service are exceptional! My husband and I have visited a few times now & we’re often serviced by lovely Florian who is always attentive & a great host at the restaurant! The chef today did a phenomenal job on the octopus & left us lost for words! Thanks Florian & all the other staff for ALWAYS making our visit to Harbour Society exceptional! We’ll definitely be back again and again and again!

Super nice lunch experience. Their menu is small, but still varied. Especially loved the starters, all of which were of outstanding quality. Especially the bread, which was delicious. Customer service was also excellent, a short wait time for food with friendly and professional staff. The food is a bit rich and pricey, but nice for a special occasion. Will be coming back :)

We had a wonderful evening at Harbour Society! The environment was elegant and relaxing, with stunning views of the harbour that added to the experience. The eye fillet steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and served in a generous portion. The salmon was also excellent, fresh and full of flavour. Drinks were well crafted and very enjoyable. Service was absolutely top-notch—special thanks to the manager and the Japanese staff member, Kanu, for their warm hospitality. Everything came together to make it a truly memorable night.

Excellent service from the waiter, amazing views and good food. Can’t really fault my lunch experience. One thing I can think of is that the lunch time menu is quite limited and the options aren’t anything the rave about. All in all it was a good experience.

The BBQ duck is just beautiful, as well as the bluff oyster (forgot to take picture). There are lovely private rooms, great for private functions, dining or simply to enjoy the quiet atmosphere. A nice surprise to see the spectacular city view from the restaurant.
