“Awesome spot to catch a couple of phat kahawai, the odd cod, a gurnard or two, etc. Well set up, with heaps of rod holders, a bait station, and good lighting for a night fish.”
“This and wharf area is great to visit. Stop for a break and coffee.”
“Has hot showers and free gas-fired barbecues, well maintained facilities for low pp cost per night. Beautiful native bush surroundings and stunning freshwater stream. Excellent walking trails nearby and superb NZ native forests to explore.”
“Good dog park, even in the wet, nice hills, good agility section, even enclosure for small dogs if you need, and fully fenced with an 'airlock' gate system”
“Great place, so easy to clip multiple kids on and trust they’re fine until the next wall. Dominique was phenomenal; so personable, helpful and knowledgeable.”
“Thank you so much Kit for making the process of sorting out a cabin so seamlessly! Really happy with the fast responsive service I received and would definitely recommend others to go through JustCabins when looking for one.”
“Chilly, but nice coffee at the cafe.”
“Lovely decor, friendly bar staff. Great atmosphere”
“Great walk. Came in off Hine Rd, up to McKerrow, onto Roubd ridge, back through Camp Wainui, up Bruce's track to repeater and back to car. Well marked, easy to navigate.”
“Great place to visit, lovely scenery”
“We love the cafe in this Mitre 10. Their fries are much better than all other Columbus Coffee in town. Apart from the cafe, we look for interesting plants there as well. It never let us down.”
“The kids love this playground. Lots of options for games and activities with plenty of places to sit for a snack and a drink as well. Having the cafe kiosk and toilet block right there is equally important for kids and parents.”
“Always very pleasant and helpful staff and easy parking out side of the shop, impressed with the wide range of cleaning products available and highly recommend Liquid Laundry Detergent for cold wash which I use all the time, overall great experience and well deserved five stars.”
“Very sad to see where so many were washed ashore that night so many years ago. All the documentaries & history books can't show you how far away from Wellington CBD by road it all was. I think it is a must see for all NZers.”
“Love this place. I have raced model power boats here for many years on the river, a great challenging piece of water.”
“Spent a while in here looking for options to cover the floor in the garage to convert to a home gym. Plenty of options were presented with pro's and cons. Range of pricing also discussed when discussing options fit for purpose. The staff member who served me was interested in helping come up with a solution. Easy access and parking, I went in early Saturday morning.”
“A wonderful family park for outdoor for sports and picnics . A bit damp under foot in the winter but excellent in the summer ☀️”
“It's a huge outdoor playground with an older kids area, younger kid locked and fenced area, and an accessible toilet. The facilities are well maintained and all functional. The toilet and the playground are clean and tidy. There's ample free off street parking right at the entrance of the park.”
“Staff are bubbly and very kind - man behind register literally singing songs and cheerful. They had many well known branded clothing and it was not ridiculously priced. Store is very clean and changing rooms are spacious. Doors automatically open which is helpful when walking out with your hands full of items purchased :)”
“Frequent visitors to this store because of how well catered it is for kids. Our 3 year old had an accident at Bunnings Petone on the weekend and the staff were so incredible - knew the process, everyone helped accordingly and followed up with a phone call later that day and a gift sent via post. Couldn’t have felt better looked after and cared for - thank you team !!”
“Great park for a family picnic. So close to children's playground, toilets and swimming pool”
“Ki o Rahi tournament. Wainuiomata is just the best place in New Zealand!!”
“Great spot with plenty for kids and families-Junglerama, Jumperama, Cyberpunk, Clip ’n Climb, and the arcade. It’s not the cheapest day out, but it definitely wears the kids out and creates some great memories. The café food is pretty average, but fine for a quick drink and some hot chips.”
“Good open late so always go shopping here after work”
“Had a kids party here. Easy to arrange, and the kids loved it. Food and service was good and the play area was great. Only negative would be how cramped the seating area is”
“Wonderful stay at Angie's for our family. Very comfortable. And the animals are so swee5 plus the trampoline and swing were a hit for our bous and Angie provided a high chair for our baby too!”
“Teacher was awesome with the kids and taught practical stuff”
“Lovely would certainly go back again when weather is good”
“Great dog walking spot. Big carpark opposite Bunnings. It's usually busy if the weather is nice. BYO balls or just pick up a stick for your dog. Plenty of large bits of driftwood along the way for having a seat and taking a break. Bags are usually available and rubbish bins are in several places. My favourite place to take my dog.”
“Wouldn't recommend swimming with eel food strapped to you. Saw one the size of a fricken tree trunk, the size that makes you say... that's a fricken tree trunk. But it wasn't. Having said that, great spot and friendly eels.”
