Iβm very disappointed with the communication re delivery from Bunnings Petone. Part of my purchase was delivered yesterday but the other major part I still hadnβt received any advices about delivery until chasing up. Today 19/12/25 Iβm told the item was picked up today and will only get delivered 30/12. Iβm so upset. This was a festive gift. I paid for the delivery thinking it would make my life easier. Had Bunnings communicated that I would not receive til 30th I would have driven to collect myself. Their communication is poor. The disappointment I feel is beyond words. You should be more transparent. You quickly take money but then canβt deliver efficiently. I certainly hope the item does not go on sale on Boxing Day then Iβll be properly pissed off. Mitre 10 next time.

We were refused entry to store today because we planned to carry our 13-week-old unvaccinated puppy in our arms and walk around the store. Instead of using a bit of common sense, staff insisted we needed a lead β even though I had explained the puppy was never going to be on the ground or interacting with anything in the store. I suppose the ridiculous store policy is what it is but what made it worse was how the situation was handled. The staff member (old grumpy lady) who confronted us came across as rude and unnecessarily aggressive, turning what could have been a simple, sensible conversation into an unpleasant and frustrating experience. As a tradesman and business owner I would regularly spend thousands of dollars at the store but this has put me off. Mitre 10 staff were very welcoming of me and my puppy.

Very disappointed. We went into Petone Bunnings yesterday after seeing tomatoes being advertised. There was a couple of specific varieties we wanted which were on the website as being available. However, after wondering around for ages we couldn't find them and eventually after another long search found a garden staff member. Unfortunately this lady was quite unhelpful and not very polite. When asked where we could find the tomatoes we were looking for she sharply stated, we haven't got them yet. When I pointed out that they were on the website as being there she said well you'll just have to come back when they arrive. She then proceeded to grill us about whether we had a heated greenhouse! No offer to take our details so we could be advised when they arrive and rather than apologise for not having available what was advertised she made it out to be our problem and that we should know better. There was also only one staff member in the cafe so the poor girl was rushed off her feet taking orders and making coffees with absolutely no help and this was quite stressful as a customer to witness. This store is in such stark contrast to our previous local store in Palmerston North where we always had a really enjoyable shopping experience as the staff were very friendly and would go out of their way to help plus the cafe always had at least 2 and usually 3 staff members.

Good place to go for general everyday items, I wouldn't trust them to deliver anything other than what's in store. The communication is appalling, I've spent 4 hours over the last week trying to get a follow up on a special order I made, and had to go into store twice before I ended up refunding the item. Even the refund was unable to be done on the spot, and I suspect I'm going to have to go into the store another time to make sure that is processed correctly.

Frequent visitors to this store because of how well catered it is for kids. Our 3 year old had an accident at Bunnings Petone on the weekend and the staff were so incredible - knew the process,everyone helped accordingly and followed up with a phone call later that day and a gift sent via post. Couldnβt have felt better looked after and cared for - thank you team !!

We ordered 2 heavy wardrobes online for collection, impressive service, staffs are very friendly and sufficient, definitely will go there more often now.

Great selection of plant pots. Be prepared to spend time looking for what you want and check product options and user reviews online beforehand as there's very few staff on the floor to provide advice. Most staff are on checkout or guarding the exit - a bit off-putting.

Good range, has high quality and not so high quality products. Its good to be mindfull of what you buy, but the price is often very good. Its also not unusual to struggle to get customer assistance, probably because often it is very busy here. Recomend to keep receipts, you may need them for returns.

The staff member at the info desk was friendly and pointed out the aisle to find padlocks. What a great range of styles, sizes and prices. The self-checkout worked well. The man supervising the checkouts was super friendly and funny. Having a Cafe on site was a bonus. It was clean and airy.
