“Very good service, amazing food and cheap for all family, and couples, best soup and bread ever highly reccomend”
“The food, which came out fast and hot, was amazing... the chicken, cranberry and brie pizza especially! It was really busy, but we might as well have been the only ones there given how attentive and responsive the staff were. A shout out to Christina in particular; friendly, efficient, impossible to fluster, and responsible for allowing us to relax and enjoy out end-of-year dinner with thoughtful and seamless service. Thanks team!”
“While waiting for a friend to arrive, I popped in to have a drink and ended up staying a few hours more. Great drinks. Great service. I didn’t want to lose my spot so one of the staff saved my table for me while I used the loo. Great location. Great prices.”
“We have been here a lot over the past couple of decades. Each time a wonderful experience. Last night our table had a mix of steak / pork loin / fisherman’s baskets. All were fantastic! Cooked beautifully! I’m on a keto diet and was able to eat well with no issues, always a win when dining out!”
“Incredible new menu, lovely outdoor garden. can highly recommend the duck breast, tandoori lamb chops and the mango panan cocktail, amazing service”
“We had such a great Christmas party here! The staff were super friendly. The food was delicious with really generous portions, and everyone commented on how consistent it was given the size of our group. The Christmas crackers and table settings were a really nice touch too. It was a fantastic night - highly recommend :)”
“The best crumbed fish I've ever had and best Souvlakis this side of Fitzroy”
“Staying in house. Had dinner. I had the fish which was excellent. I tend to judge on vegetables and they were perfect. Recommended. Good bar too.”
“Don't know why there aren't more reviews about this place. I feel like it gets overlooked because Sushi Bi is nearby at the train station. However, this place is a little gem. I remember coming here a good 10 years ago when the price of one piece of sushi was 70 cents. This place is still greatly affordable and still holds up its name to having great chicken. Their chicken katsu donburi is perfection. You get the katsu sauce and kewpie mayo drizzled over a deep fried chicken cutlet that is still so juicy and crunchy even though it was probably fried an hour or few ago. They include both lettuce and cabbage underneath this beautiful chicken and a generous amount of rice. I was afraid getting the regular size was going to be too small for my appetite so I got some sushi on the side. The sushi is cheap, at their basic pieces being $1 per piece. It's nothing to write home about but it's fresh and simple which I do prefer sometimes. The range is small but it's solid. Their salmon is very, very good. I think I'll order the large donburi next time. If you don't eat chicken, they also do a fish katsu! I'll be coming back again for that chicken katsu donburi. It calls my name....”
“I have bought sushi there twice and it is the best sushi I have ever tasted in New Zealand. Subtle flavouring, immaculately presented, generous filings, unique and totally worth a visit. I regret living 20 kilometres away. Superb and I wouldn't bother writing a review unless it was absolutely deserved. Unassuming sushi queens end of. I'll be back at the soonest opportunity.”
“An easy place to get served good quality food.”
“Food, Service and Atmosphere are amazing, all 5/5. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable. He also clicked onto it being my birthday, and provided me with a Wood Fire Basque Cheesecake, on the house. It was so lovely! Definitely going back”
“Incredible food :) first time visit today and will be back again . Thank you”
“Great food and friendly service. We had sweet and sour pork, Singapore noodles, and chicken fried rice.”
“For a takeaway sushi shop its perfect. Good selection and quality. So much better than other budget places around Wellington.”
“My go-to lunch restaurant. The food here is delicious, great quality and good value for money. The staff are very friendly and offer great service and the restaurant is always clean. They also have some delicious vegetarian options. Highly recommend the vegetarian don if you don't eat meat.”
“Absolutely love the click and collect option and the fact that you can get specially made custom rolls with brown rice. I do recommend ordering earlier in the day if you do want brown rice because they often run out after lunch. When this happened to me I instantly received a message phone call from the staff explaining the situation and my options- great communication.”
“As a student sushi is the perfect thing between classes. Its cheapish, it's good, and I don't have to wait for it to cook. The best part is that past 4-5 the prices go down, which is perfect when you have late classes”
“My absolute go to when I’m in Wellington, especially on a Sunday morning for yum Cha after a long weekend of socialising. The owner and staff are so lovely and will take care of your every need.”
“Wow! Delicious food, great service. The pork ribs were so tender! All our meals were great, the desserts delicious and the service great! A great find. We'll be back!”
“Best Thai I have ever had. Great food, good prices, nice people. Super authentic.”
