“Nothing better than hanging out at the swings with a group of friends at lunch. The playground is fairly well equipped, and the pond next to the library is lovely, featuring large trees and some ducks. As for the main field itself, it's well maintained, and a decent size. Perfect for a variety of sports, or a nice picnic.”

“Good training place when tide is in and also a lot of people walk their dogs there. It is nice and peaceful for a stroll along the beach. At one end of park is a childrens playground and mini golf course in summer. (If its still there). Also a pond for battery controlled kids toy boats. Also there is a train on a small tracks that takes kids for a ride. I cand guarantee these are still there and when they are operating. Things have changed since covid”

“Great skate park, a field to walk the dog, kick a ball, or picnic. Adjacent play area for young ones and a serviced toilet.”

“Great outdoor gathering area with fun water activities for the kids in close distance. Our toddler was well entertained for a few hours.”

“Stafford Park is home to numerous yellow pohutukawa. They are best from late October to mid November. If you're only familiar with red pohutukawa this is an easy location to see the lesser known yellow ones.”

“The upgrade in the playground is amazing, attracting a lot of children. This makes for a great place for the neighborhood children to hang out and make new friends”

“Good park. Has a flying fox, 2 swings and a jungle gym area. All very spread out, so not good for keeping an eye on more then one young kid. Is better for kids 4-8.”

“Cool playground for older kids and there a water play area too. Also handy is the store selling crepes, ice cream and drinks on site so you can grab a bite while the kids play.”

“Dog here, this is a great little park with good spots for pee mail. There is a few things about but no lights. It is a long thin small park and can get busy there is a small pond too but the ducks do not want to be sniffed. Also something funny happens with the pond as it is only above leg depth on the ducks but I was swimming. Anyway apart from some stuck up ducks it is pretty social and safe down a dead end road and away from sports fields. Lights are not a problem for me I am black and my nose works in the dark. My owner spent about 10 minutes calling a tractor tyre called leo to him. I could not figure out why and eventually tapped him on the back of the leg to say the tyre is not coming. Boy did he jump, but that tyre must have been dead like I get when I see a rabbit, none here tho. Recommend will do again.”

“I recently found this place after 5 years of living in NZ. Not a bad place, quite relaxing. Thinking of setting off my kayaks from here but still a bit scared to do so. I think it would be nicer if there is free or coin barbeque spots here. Would attract more people and families”

“Great park off the beaten track a bit, so limited road noise, but less than a minute to the motorway. Fully fenced, easily accessible from the road, and gran could even watch the family play from the car if he/she has mobility issues. A park bench is just inside the top gate, with more dotted around, as well as x2 sheltered picnic tables. Heaps of the nice grass for the kiddos too. Plenty of stuff for the kids to do. We'll come again :).”

“The greatest workout area in Wellington, on Sundays there's a huge group that shows up, and the ambient is fantastic. Great energy and great people, strong as hell and with amazing calisthenics trikcs”

“My grandchildren loves it here. Beautiful open corner park to play at, fresh air and sunshine on a good Welly day. The safety mats provides some safety assurance for those awkward landings or for the more adventurous. The park facilities maybe modest but it's enough to entertain the bored or tire that hypo child. And what are the odds, it's a few steps away from the Jville public kids pool.”
