“It's a domain, so prep for that and you'll have an awesome time! We went for a Speedway event, was fantastic and we'll worth it. The seperate grassy area is great for sports, relaxing etc. Rubbish bins around which is great. Tennis court is free & open for the public to use.”

“Great selection of craft beer! A sunny spot to people watch and enjoy a wide range of beers. The bartender knew a lot about each of them and was happy to help us taste and make decisions. Good spot for a late afternoon beverage.”
“I was here last night, with a few friends to see Greg Johnson's Vine Street Tour (24.04.2025). What a great venue, nice staff too. Didn't eat there but food looked deelish., so could be a return trip to sample in the not to distant future.”
“Rice Rice Baby is a quaint Vietnamese restaurant that’s full of charm. The menu offers a great variety, perfect for all types of foodies, and the noodle soup was both delicious and generous in portion for the price. The bright colors and cheerful atmosphere make it a happy, homey spot to enjoy a meal out.”
“Loved the presentation of food, quick service and great prices. Also so accomodating with a guest that couldn’t eat dairy or gluten so you created a one off dish for her. That was above and beyond. Thank you for a great time.”
On the plate at McSwiggans Irish Pub, the idea is simple, bistro‑style and well judged. A family‑friendly feel comes through naturally. The team keeps things friendly and organised. Plates offer plenty without weighing things down.

“This was the best meal I've had at a restaurant in ages. Attentive and friendly service, pleasant surroundings. The food was fantastic, great value for the money. We enjoyed the gnocchi with oyster and lions mane mushrooms, as well as the perfectly cooked tarakihi fillet with asparagus, shredded fennel, wilted greens and salsa verde. A good wine list and beautiful Little City kombucha completed our meal. We will be back next time we're in this part of the country.”
“Cool little bar, live music every night.”
“Barbara Jenner's review above has confused two venues. She is criticising the large Torbay Community Hall which is owned by the TCA - Torbay Community Association. Torbay Theatre, an amateur theatre group, owns the small Gate Theatre which is attached to the Hall. I hope this clarifies things?”
“Shoutout to the family that run's this place, been coming here for 4+ years and we are greeted with great hospitality every time.”
“Such a treat to go there in Howick from Manurewa. Great deals on tickets and quiet even in the school holidays.”
“Great food, can get very busy. Good vegan options.”
“Really enjoyed our visit here. The show and guide was really good.”
“Really good venue, for a top quality gig, sound was good, ambience even better.. Excellent staff meant it was a good night for all.. highly recommended.”
“This bar is a hidden gem, capable of bringing out the pirate in anyone! The thrill of discovering this place was truly rewarding. The atmosphere and decor are remarkable, with artificial skulls on the wall showcasing meticulous attention to detail. Every corner offers unique seating options and ambiance, making the experience truly special. The staff is delightful and enjoyable to chat with. The "Skull Punch" drink, served with a spectacular fiery show, is a definite recommendation for the thrilling experience it provides. Exploring the various rum-based cocktails was a fun adventure. Surprisingly, the place wasn't overly busy for a Friday night, adding to the overall positive experience.”
“Very friendly people Great staff. .. outside rest area is very well set up...pool and darts available to play there is a tab pod ...great restaurant ...clean and tidy with a fantastic atmosphere The misfits had a wonderful day and hope to be back soon”
“adorable and this pizza is insane. best pie i've had in months.”
“Not sure why, but every time I attend a gig here, this kid in booty shorts tells me I'm too drunk to be served. It keeps happening. Quite annoying because every time I want a beer I have to leave the premises, go to Hotel Bristol, order from a grown-up, sink my drink in like 90 seconds then head back to San Fran, hoping I haven't missed too much of the set i've paid good money to see. I'd recommend some staff training.”
“No better place if you're looking for party/costume. Lots of other low price stuff.”
“What a cool little bar. Locate the sign on the street and walk up the stairs. The entrance has no real sign, there is just a closed door and when opened reveals a funky bar. Cool atmosphere, would be great in winter on a cosy winter night but we enjoyed it on a hot summers night. Just stopped for one drink but wish we could have stayed longer.”
“Awesome pool hall vibe here. Went there when it was quiet, but there are so many tables here that it must be awesome when it is full.”
“My first time here, this is probably now my favourite place to eat and drink, absolutely amazing! Honestly, we would order a taco, and in what seemed like the time it took them to walk to the kitchen and return, we had our food. And the flavour, was the perfect mix of texture, the right balance of ingredients, enough heat to know it was Mexican, but not overpowering. Do your self a favour, check this place out.”
“Great Pub with a good beer selection and also a live venue reminiscent of 80s Berlin!”
