Amazing Experience at the Stardome! I recently visited the Stardome and had an absolutely amazing experience. The lecturer was not only knowledgeable but also had a great sense of humor, which made the session both educational and entertaining. The supporting video presentation was well-made and pleasant to watch, perfectly complementing the lecture. One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity to view real stars and the moon through telescopes set up by enthusiastic volunteers. It was a fantastic bonus that made the night even more memorable. A big thank you to the team and volunteers at the Stardome - highly recommended for anyone curious about space or just looking for a unique and inspiring night out!

It's a very interesting and welcoming place. The children enjoyed the visit. However, we opted for the TReX Experience and were disappointed; the children were bored. We'll try the constellations more next time.

Last night we went to Stardrome in Auckland and it was an unforgettable experience! We watched an incredible Queen band show on the big screen , After the show, the staff gave us extra activities, including a chance to use the big telescope to see a star up close. It was such a magical and inspiring moment! This place is also really great for the younger generation. It’s not just entertaining — it sparks curiosity about the universe and space. The combination of fun shows, interactive exhibits, and real stargazing opportunities makes learning exciting and memorable. It’s the perfect place to inspire kids, teens, and even adults to explore science and the wonders of the cosmos. Highly recommended for families and anyone interested in space or astronomy!

Admission is $5 for people over 3 years old. We went on a rainy day. It was fun but very small. Without engagement a small child can speed through in under 10 minutes. I think you need to go in the evening and or for a planned movie feature to get the full effect of the planetarium. There is a small gift shop at the entrance.

This place is great! Very good for a date night. Unfortunately they have started pushing alot of Te Reo Moari into all the exhibitions making it harder to read them

Matariki review: - overall really enjoyed it, and my 2 and 4 year old enjoyed it for a second year! - be prepared for huge queues if going on the free day (15 min), or, if going to the longer pay for session book in advance. - last year it was by presenter, this year the show was pre recorded. - I don't like how loud it was, and I'd prefer that when locating things in the sky we turn our head and look rather than everything spin for us each time.

I accidentally booked for the wrong night, but the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly and managed to get us into the show very quickly. We watched the gorgeous Pink Floyd show and were completely mesmerized, highly recommended!

Went and visited for the first time in 15 years, just after the recent renovations. The new exhibit spaces are amazing. The night sky show was just as amazing as I remember it. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do something a bit different.
