What a cool little bar. Locate the sign on the street and walk up the stairs. The entrance has no real sign, there is just a closed door and when opened reveals a funky bar. Cool atmosphere, would be great in winter on a cosy winter night but we enjoyed it on a hot summers night. Just stopped for one drink but wish we could have stayed longer.
In late November I arranged for a group of us to do a Cocktail Masterclass at Library for our team Christmas party. My team had a really awesome time learning how to make potions and eventually compete in groups to make the best cocktail. We were really lucky to have Manny as our master mixologist for the day, he was literally ‘the man’. We had heaps of fun and hope to be able to do it again in future. Thanks so much!
My favorite bar in Wellington. The cocktails are insanely good and unique and the ambiance is lovely. You can either enjoy concerts (often) or have a quiet time, depending on where you sit. And the waiters are very kind and of good advice !
Came here on a Sunday night not knowing they were doing Wellington on a Plate. Such a good dessert burger! Red velvet bun with biscoff, white chocolate, and cream cheese flavours. The live band was also lovable!
You MUST visit this bar when in Wellington! The vibes inside were immaculate, cozy, comforting and took you back in time to a 30s Jazz Bar. We arrived early on a Friday night and got seated without a booking although I would recommend booking if arriving after 6. The cocktails were creatively crafted with plenty to choose from. The service was friendly and professional. Can’t wait to return!
Stopped here on a friend's recommendation, had to use passports for entry and Australian drivers licence cannot be used. Service was lovely, drinks were nice, food was nibble size which is what you want for cocktails. Atmosphere was good
We went on a Friday. Had the secret life of bees cocktail and ive never had honey as a predominant taste for a cocktail! It was delightful. We also had the coffee pudding which was comforting and went well with the cocktail. We also enjoyed the live jazz band which is hard to find anywhere nowadays.
I don’t know what band was playing, but it was the BEST live music ever! We went to The Library for their awesome drinks and deserts, and left the bar super happy with many smiles. Love this bar/lounge.
The Library is a go-to whenever I’m in Wellington. Stoked we were able to get the 2 for 1 dessert deal this the round! Cannot recommend the Secret Life of Bees for a sour yet so sweet drink enough while my partner loved the Pink Wednesday. The crème brûlée is 10/10.
My group of 4 attended WOAP: Not Only Murders in the Building WOAP event last Saturday at The Library and it was just brilliant! Using characters from the comedy-mystery TV series 'Only Murders in the Building', participants were given a case file to inspect and identify the murderer of Cinda Canning. I am most impressed by the detail put into creating the entire event - the event posters, the menu of delicious cocktails and accompanying snacks (dips that came out in a Dimas paper bag, the #14 Sandwich, gut milk), even the music playlist - all meticulously tied in to many key features of the TV show. And the mystery case itself! So cleverly weaved, we definitely needed to put our thinking caps on and observation skills into good use whilst trying not to get too muddleheaded having consumed 4.5 yummy cocktails in the 2-hour session :) Staff were super friendly and regularly came to check on tables to see if participants needed hints to help crack the case.
