“Being a courier contractor i change my tyres every year and have been to many tyre shops, since i found AKB Auto i never went to other shops, they sell the best commercial tyres at a reasonable price, the tyres are really good that my last set lasted 18 months and 75000kms. AKB also do WOF and other auto repairs, the only downside is they do not have a comfortable waiting area for customers, you have to wait outside. Other than that its a thumbs up for AKB Auto.”

“Geddes Automotive; one of the most reliable in Auckland While visiting Onehunga mall, I heard a loud noise from the engine bay of my BMW 320i, so I decided to stop at the first garage I saw on Selwyn St. Peter identified the noise as coming from the radiator fan, which had deteriorated and sprayed metal particles all over the engine. He quoted up to $1000 to replace the whole fan module, so I left the car with him. When I arrived home, I read some very negative Google feedback about the garage, which scared me. I spent the following days wondering if I should take the car back. I checked with BMW, made quotes for the parts and even went to check on the work in progress. Turns out I didn’t need to be worried. They were professional and knew what they were doing. When the car was ready, I got an invoice for $700, not only under the $1000 quoted, but a quarter of what it would have cost me at BMW. He also identified a noise from the water pump, which I had known of for about a year. This was quoted at the time by Midas in the city as a $1500 job so I didn’t do anything. I asked Peter to quote for a new water pump. I picked up the car from Geddes with a new water pump fitted the same day for $600. Not $1500. Here we go. All your scary Google feedback turned out to be wrong. Thank you Peter and Allen. You made friends for life.”

“Awesome diesel mechanic. Went to these guys with a leaking diesel pump, they gave me a price over the phone and after calling a couple of others who gave wildly different prices but all estimates. I went to these guys. Dropped it off Monday arvo and had the van back Wednesday !. They stuck to the price and even did a couple of other bit free of charge. The guys even gave me a full run through of the work and showed me how it had failed. For me, someone who normally does there own work this was reassuring and geez he knows his stuff. Really honest guys and would not hesitate to go back or recommend them to anyone else. Five stars and thanks.”

My a/c belt broke and I was lucky to be nearby. They did the work with priority because I live further away, but offered a loan/replacement vehicle if I required one. My car desperately needed a service & they were able to fit this work in too. They are AMAZING!! Their thorough service was a very reasonable price, and I called for quotes on the replacement belts at x4 other garages while I waited in Takapuna. They were THE BEST on price too!! When I told Tony that I was sold my vehicle with no wheel jack or brace, he supplied them to me for free. Great people, best service, I will be back again! :)”

“I can’t rate Mat and his team high enough. We had a road accident due to a mechanical failure on the trailer causing the boat to come off the trailer. I had used Matcraft once before for some minor perectly matched gelcoat repairs, so they were my only choice for repairing the boat.. There was no structural damage, just cosmetic and fittings. These repairs are usually the hardest as it’s what you see. I have seen some poor repairs done on mates boats by so called professionals. All repairs were done with perfectly matched gelcoat, no paint. I am fussy how my gear looks and while initially talking with Matt at the start of the job, he said to me, I’ve done this before, when you get the boat back, you won’t even know its happened, which is exactly what I got. Another testimony to their workmanship was from the stainless guys who did the bow rail repair. They asked me why has such a new boat got such an old motor. The motor is still the original. Matt and his team took care of everything and arranged the new trailer. I have had several random comments at the boat ramp complementing me on the condition of the boat and how smart it looks. If you are in need of any type of boat repair and care about the final result and how it looks, Matt and his team at Matcraft are that guys to use.
