“If you are looking for a delicious snack, try the ham and cheese croissant at Showa cafe. The croissant is perfectly baked, and the ham and cheese combo is simply delicious. You won’t be disappointed!”
“Posting on behalf of husband. Great service and competitive pricing!”
“A great place to get a variety of specialist foods ie, keto, paleo, gluten free flour, sauces etc. Heaps of herbs, spices, teas, flours, bread making kits. They have beer making supplies, they have lots of stuff! Nice, friendly and helpful staff too.”
“Has everything you need whilst on the island.”
“Great range of fresh fruit and veges. Always leave feeling like I got a bargain. The service is unbeatable. Very friendly”
“Heard so much about the Steak & Guinness Pie that we had to try it out. Hubby had the large one, me the small. Both did not disappoint and both were ample servings. Flakey puff pastry sealed over the top of a bowl of steaming hot steak filling, served with crispy beer battered chips and a green salad. Tasty and very well-priced. Great pub, awesome staff.”
“Super impressed with the quality of food, service and cleaniness of the cafe. No table is left uncleared. Always such a pleasure having our family breakfast here!”
“Pak’nSave Ormiston is one of the newer stores around, and you can definitely tell. It feels a lot cleaner and more modern compared to the older Pak’nSave branches. The layout is spacious, the lighting is bright, and everything’s a bit more organised. It’s still got that classic Pak’nSave warehouse vibe, but it’s a lot more pleasant to shop in. The prices are what you’d expect — some of the cheapest around. If you’re doing a big shop or trying to save a bit each week, it’s a solid option. They have all the basics, and the weekly specials are usually pretty good. The fresh produce section is generally decent. Most of the fruit and veg look fresh, although just like any supermarket, sometimes you’ll come across stuff that’s seen better days. The meat section is well-stocked and usually good value. The bakery has a nice variety too, with heaps of buns, rolls, and breads ready to grab. Staff at Ormiston seem friendlier than at some other branches. If you ask for help, they’re usually happy to assist, and you’ll spot a few walking around the aisles if you need anything. Self-checkouts are there if you’re in a rush, but even the manned checkouts move at a good pace most of the time. Parking is probably one of the best parts. Since it’s in the Ormiston Town Centre area, you get a big parking lot with easy access. It doesn’t feel as chaotic as some other locations, which makes the whole trip a bit less stressful. The area around the store is nice too — you’ve got other shops, cafés, and places to stop in if you want to make it more of an outing. One thing to note though, just like other Pak’nSave stores, some items shown online might not always be available in-store. So if you’re planning your shop based on what you see on the website, maybe don’t expect everything to be there when you arrive. Overall, Pak’nSave Ormiston is a pretty good spot to do your shopping. It’s clean, newer, and has a good range of products at great prices. You still get the budget-friendly experience Pak’nSave is known for, just with a slightly nicer atmosphere than the older stores.”
“Perfect country side styled cafe to relax and enjoy the food and atmosphere. And I even got to see a 135 years old pine tree. Thanks to my beautiful daughter, we got to visit this place, rare but perfect.”
“Love this place! Go to place everytime we're in Akl. You never know what you'll find, that's the best part. Prices are very reasonable and sometimes you can find interesting products you would only find in specialty shops.”
“We booked a table via First Table, so was able to get a good deal for a table of 4. We ordered the Pan-Roasted Lamb Rump and Butcher's Cut Steak. The food came out quickly and it was very tasty. Basalt is nicely layed out, with one corner for dining, another area where you can watch live sport and have drinks. As well as an upstairs area with music”
“Authentic Japanese ramen although I’ve never been but imagined this is what it would be like. As soon as we stepped in greeted by all staff including the chef’s. Service was attentive and food services quick. Food was really delicious and couldn’t fault the entire experience.”
“My daughter and I went for dinner tonight and we’ll definitely being going back. Each meal was well presented and delicious! Tastier than other Japanese restaurants I’ve been to. There is so much more on the menu I want to try. Was lovely just the two of us, but can imagine even better with a larger group and sharing more meals. Our meals came out with some time between them so I did get dinner envy of others I saw. But when ours arrived it was totally worth the wait. You def need to try this one. My latest east Auckland fav.”
“Had an awesome time here! The staff were super friendly and on point, the service couldn’t have been better. The food was fantastic—full of flavour and beautifully presented. Definitely a place we’re going back to!”
“This place is truly a gem. Service was excellent, atmosphere was really cute, and happy hour prices were super reasonable. But the best part was the pizza. Truly the best thin crust pizza I've ever had. Wish we were locals--we'd be there constantly!”
“The food was delicious, and portions are great value for money. The staff were quick and attentive and not as rude as I've experienced before. Overall, this visit did not disappoint as it was a busy Thursday afternoon, and not a table was empty.”
“Went for lunch, menu prices are really good. We ordered fish and chips, really enjoyed was a lovely meal. Staff there are very good & efficient and easy to talk too. Thoroughly recommend this place and will go back again.”
“Awsome people to deal with knowledge was massive had answers for all the questions I needed went to wat to in what area which is best which is not colours different species but same trees plants etc just Awsome!!!”
“I love garden centres, especially those with a café. Its a large, well stocked centre and the café serves a good coffee. As a bonus...all the people were nice too. In the café their eggs and salmon of rosti stack and salmon are excellent choices, they did not skimp on the salmon. Go and enjoy.”
“Great local charm..Friendly staff and ample parking.”
“Stopped in for lunch while getting a car serviced. The guy working stated they'd just opened so the wait time was longer but I wasn't in a rush, so not an issue for me. Service was friendly, food was served fresh and hot. Good lunch spot!”
“Tasty pizza. Ordered Margarita, Cranberry Chicken and Smoky Chicken. All were good, great amount of toppings, fluffy and crunchy base and reasonably priced.”
“The customer service here is absolutely outstanding! The staff are so genuinely lovely, they’ll even hold the door open for you, or bring the order to your car (when I've had kids in the car). The buffalo chicken wings are hands down my favourite, always a hit! Most people don't know about the chicken wings, so please do yourself a favour and add them to your next order!! Every visit has been nothing short of perfect. Honestly, I don’t have a single complaint. Highly recommend!”
“The guy behind the counter Aidan (hopefully thats spelt right lol) Guy was a hero, went in on Fathers day as per tradition and he let us know there would be a slight wait due to Oven issues, no stress at all! It looked like he was working a solo shift which is bananas for a sunny Fathers Day! Dude never crumbled under the pressure and knew how to prioritise orders, my family and I placed a pretty sizeable order so we were expecting a long wait time since it was just him doing it all, he managed to get the small orders out fast so customers didn’t get upset, he slipped us an extra few garlic knots as an apology for the wait (hopefully I dont get him in trouble for that) Just solid, cool calm and collected service! - matt”
“Amazing pizzas. Always loved these over the crappy D and PH ingredients that make you bloat. Much better variety than before. Quick and friendly service too.”
“Best pizza in town. Not traditional pizza but the best of both European and Asian cuisines.”
“This is our favourite local Eatery! The staff are lovely and so very accommodating. Being able to take our own wine makes it more affordable, meaning we can eat out more often. Love it!”
“Consistently great pizza from Sals Birkenhead. The manager Raj is always friendly and nice to talk to, and he makes a pretty great pizza. Sals menu is simpler than other pizza places, but higher quality and tastier - plus a large pizza is actually large from Sals. Definitely recommend Sals for a slice of New York style pizza, especially if you can get a deal or bundle.”
“I was searching on places to eat on Google maps, and this place popped up. I love my new York pizza, and for breakfast... why not? Lol. This was really good. Best pizza place in Auckland by far. It's worth the visit!!!”
“Restaurant set up as NYC pizza. Simple menu, but the taste was extraordinary. My favorite was the 5 boroughs. It was juicy and flavourful, nice and moist.”
