If you love seafood especially your lobsters then this is the place to be. Friendly people and best seafood chowder I’ve had in a long time. I also tried the juicy bbq mussels and the mouth watering pāua burger 5 stars from me!
Been hanging out to come here and totally worth it!!!! Parking on the main road. Large area for waiting once ordered. All outdoors. Friendly service all the way through. Crayfish, scallops, mussels and creamed paua on the menu for a great feed when hanging out for some kaimoana!! Double cheese paua smash burger is epic!!! Fry bread bun with hearty meat patties and loads of creamed paua. Loaded paua fries spoke my language! Delicious chips made even better with all that sumptuous creamed paua... I almost didn't share with hubby lol Can't wait til next time :D
I recently had the pleasure of ordering at Captain Kai Moana, and I must say that the food was truly a delight for the taste buds. Although there were a few hiccups along the way, the culinary experience ultimately left me satisfied. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the seafood chowder. Bursting with the flavors of the ocean, it was a rich and creamy delight. Each spoonful offered a tantalizing blend of fresh seafood and perfectly balanced seasonings. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone visiting Captain Kai Moana. However, I must mention that the wait time for our food was quite long. We patiently waited for about an hour before our food was ready. This delay did dampen our overall experience, as it left us feeling somewhat frustrated and hungry. On a positive note, the staff at Captain Kai Moana recognized the delay and kindly offered us an extra dessert as compensation. This gesture was appreciated and helped alleviate some of the dissatisfaction caused by the prolonged wait. Taking all aspects into account, I would rate the food at Captain Kai Moana a 5 out of 5. The flavors were outstanding, especially the seafood chowder. However, considering the significant wait time, I have to lower the overall rating to 3 out of 5. Despite the time issue, I would still recommend Captain Kai Moana for its exceptional culinary offerings. Just be prepared for a potential wait and remember that the flavorful experience is worth the temporary delay.
We had been following their socials from Sydney for sometime. Finally got to go see them and wasn't disappointed!! I had the flounder and my girlfriend had the double smash paua burger, delicious! They were very generous and amazing people!!
ORDERED: 1x Paua and Fry bread - $17.00 1x Double Cheese Paua Smash Burger - $18.00 1x Small Fries -$5.00 This was my first time, came with the Mrs. We came late in the afternoon as well, 2:55pm on a Sunday. Service was GREAT! Food was SUPERB. I cannot explain but I haven't had a great food experience like that in ages. The burger was too much for for me, but the taste is out of this world. Paua and fry bread had us gagging for more. We couldn't believe the taste. Great job Team Captain Kai Moana!! We definitely will be back!!
