“This resort has both accommodation and camp sites. It's so far about the normal It's unbelievable. Amazingly luxurious glamping tents, rooms with every amenity and gorgeous facilities. There are lounges and a heated swimming pool with spa bath, a sauna and I've bath in the ample landscaped grounds, and all next door to the boutique 'village' of Havelock North.”
The kitchen at Common Room takes a simple, bistro-style path and lets the food speak. Portions are generous yet well judged. A family‑friendly feel comes through naturally. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy.
“It is a lovely big park with a short walk to awesome beach plus a gorgeous coffee cart with local made food”
“Arabella hosted our daughter's birthday party at TimeZone today. She was fantastic! Right from the time of booking, she kept us well updated on the plan for the day. She greeted us warmly on arrival and was very welcoming. Arabella engaged with all the children attending the party, helped them find games to suit their interests and was very patient and kind. Everybody in our group had a great time thanks to her!!”
“Big range of variety of gardens and plants. Nice walk to the aviary to see heaps of kākā and parrots. Duck feeding is available near the information center. Lots of other birds to watch around the gardens. Lots of street parking.”
“A super important and helpful community asset”
“Went as an international visitor and I think I paid $35 for the whole experience. They have so many exhibit including NZ/Dunedin early history, Maori, "Animal Attic" (mostly animal taxidermy), Maritime (ship models) and People of the World (random assortment of cultures - they even have a mummy). The Planetarium was alright but I went to the Night Sky one which was rather boring to be honest. The science/kids section was fun but a lot of the exhibit needs to be refreshed as they have seen a lot of use. The butterfly garden was very interesting as it is something you don't see often. They also have a cafe onsite but I did not try it. I spent around 3hrs trying to see everything but this place definitely need a few visits if you want to experience everything. My only complaint is that the gift shop does not have many Otago Museum branded things -only magnets and postcard - I was ready to buy more souvenirs, had they had more!”
“Friendly safe place to take your under 5s. We take our grandson to a weekly playgroup there Always a good time.”
“It’s a small community Hall. The hall is perfect for kids parties, adult parties, weddings, fitness classes, church groups, social groups, sports groups, corporate functions, staff training, business planning, rehearsals, small community groups and lots more. Maximum of 50 people. Very affordable and easy. Theres a kitchen and table and chairs. The hall is a great space for the community to use.”
“good to walk with kids and there is a playground that people call it Red playground. Also you can find ducks at the near the pond”
“This is a 2.8km off leash dog walk. There is one good sized pond for dogs to swim and depending on whether it has been raining will depend on whether sister will be flowing. There are a few yucky parts where if the dogs get covered in mud, they will need a bath!! They love it though. The track also caters for a few cyclists some of whom go too fast. Don't be shy to say, 'slow down', I do. Great place.”
“Such a great playground for smaller children. The playground is situated as you enter the parking lot of the cockle bay beach. There are four different swings two for very little children with one that has a adult swing attached. The other two are a small child swing with a chain and a big round rope swing. Also a smaller climbing frame with a slide and a bigger child slide amd frame. Great park all and all”
“My husband and I went to Killarney Park after having a cup of coffee at French Rendezvous Cafe next door on 15/12/2023. The park was very quiet and we enjoyed the lovely and romantic walk there. We highly recommend you to visit the park if you happen to go to North Shore or you are one of the Northshorers.”
“Bug cliffs, ocean walks, watch the tides, if high not much walking room. Steep stairs. Gorgeous area.”
“Gribblehirst Park Playground is a fun and family-friendly spot for kids of all ages. It features swings, slides, climbing structures, and a flying fox, offering plenty of opportunities for active play. The playground is set within a spacious park with open green areas, making it a great place for picnics and outdoor fun. With its safe, well-maintained equipment and shaded spots for parents to relax, it’s a fantastic place for a family outing.”
“This is a decent sized reserve area in Northcote, accessible via Queen Street. The children playground has been recently upgraded and has a lot of swings and areas to keep them busy for a couple hours. On street parking is available here. Decent and well maintained toilets is available here. There is always less crowd here, since the location is not that popular except for locals. Half sized basket ball court is also available here. Well recommended overall.”
“Nice playground, kids love it. But sometimes people can be seen smoking next to the playground.”
“Great beach for a nature break in the city; fantastic with takeaway/packed meal at low tide to walk off street the nom nom noms. Not recommended for inexperienced or young people to swim due to long jagged rocky foreshore bed.”
“Always friendly, great place to go for baby clothes that are different.”
“Update- this little place no longer operates as a cafe. But instead is a cute venue and pizzeria and bar. Hours can vary so best to check out when they are open for pizza and drinks. The best little cafe in Westmere. We went to a birthday party here and it had an awesome private tiny theatre and private garden. There was also the public cafe with delicious food and coffee.”
“Nice covered and fenced playground for littles. Manageable on your own if you take more than one kid as there are different areas of interest. Toilet on site too. Will visit again”
“I regularly start and finish my walk of the Omana Perimeter Loop Track from here. There are splendid water views especially from the higher parts of the track. And the walk along the farmland border and through the bush and wetlands is very pleasant.”
“Great park for families, would reccomend bringing skateboard or scooter(be respectful to Older skaters tho) and a tog n towel for the kids as the park has a cool water feature too.”
“Nice and spacious park for the whole family and dogs. 2 separate kids play area for fun and play. Soccer , cricket , gym and walking space for all.”
“Pretty mint playground, segregated into 3 parts - there is this mini obstacle course which was very cool. Bonus dairy and takeaway just meters away. Nice to see kids making their way to shops in their little packs, giving me nostalgic vibes. Plenty of parking too.”
“Very cool park. Great playground at one end of the park and a cool looking hide out/ tunnel/ ex-cannon place. Would have loved to use the stairs to go down the beach, but it was closed off. Looking straight ahead, you can enjoy Rangitoto island. A cool fact I just searched up, this park is named after American president John F. Kennedy.”
“Absolutely amazing hall. Clean, modern and fairly priced. Booking and everything was so easy and smooth. Great quick responses when we messaged. The hall came with everything you would need for your event. My son’s first birthday here was everything we wanted it to be! Extremely grateful and will be booking here again whenever we have an event.”
“Another iconic place in Auckland for theatre and arts. Wonderful performances and a meeting place for artists and art enthusiasts.”
“Awesome Community Hub. I've been going with my wife for the past 2 weeks and it's always tidy, clean and lots of parking available.”
“Beautiful theatre, reception was friendly. The waiting room is bit small and became overcrowded before the show and with interval. But I will be back there, was an enjoyable evening.”
