“Come for the climb, stay for the pies. After a semi-leisurely climb up Mount Te Aroha, my friend and I decided to stop at Kevin's Bakery for a food replen. The exterior seemed unassuming, and we were prepared for a meal pervaded by mediocrity. Upon entry, we were happily greeted by Kevin and his wife as we carefully selected our afternoon meal; she chose a butter chicken pie, I went for the reliable staple of steak and onion. The dappled sunlight splashed across our faces outside, as we cautiously bit into the crust. Dense chunks of meat and gravy filled my mouth, whilst flakes of perfectly formed pastry fell across my lap. I was in pie heaven. Within a few minutes I had consumed this bountiful feast, and returned back into the store for more. 10/10, would purchase multiple pies again.”

“I used to come here a lot when I worked in the area, came back for nostalgia. Still had filling, reasonably priced food. Great milkshakes, good burgers. Full and happy for a reasonable price.”

“Probably the best place to go for an awesome breakfast or even just a coffee. Of course is not cheap as a lunch bar or petrol station but is 10 times better. What I really like of this place is that it even has a drive away, what makes it perfect for rainy days, cold days or even sunny days. I usually like to order a large cappuccino or mocha, can't say which one is better as both of them are made amazingly by its friendly staff :).”

“They have the regular bubble/iced teas on the menu, but they have a good selection of loose leaf tea for sale as well. I picked up a box of gaba oolong which I've only ever seen on taiwan-based online stores (usually very expensive), very reasonably priced as well.”

“Always great service and great food at reasonable prices. Called in this morning to pick up a Pastrami Beef Bagel, for my 96yr old uncle's lunch since he loves them so! I was dismayed to see none in the cabinet and asked whatever could I do so as not to disappoint him? Apparently they have been very busy and hadn't had time to make any but at the look on my face quickly offered to have two ready for pick up in 15mins. Very much appreciated and end result very happy uncle!”

“Have known about this place for years but never had time to stop in. Well today was different and so glad we did. Welcomed in with a big hello and smiles. Immediately accommodating to our toddler by bringing over a high chair. Food was VERY well priced as well as tasty and well presented, and coffee was excellent too. Really pleased with Go Deli and will surely be going back next time. One observation: you could receive so much more business with a better sandwhich board up on Constellation drive (and get council to cut that bush back as it blocks so much of your view) and a sign similar down by Bunnings. It's a busy area but most people overlook your business as it's tucked in a corner out of view!”

Fresh squeezed OJ and a mean ham and cheese sammie toasted to within an inch of its life, pretty much tasty everything!! Go there!!”

“I ordered from this bakery a while back on uber. They were not very good so I didn't order again until very recently. They have to have new bakers or owners because the food quality has changed dramatically for the better. Classic bakery food done really well for a great price. Has become a new favourite of mine. I always judge a bakery by the quality of their custard slice and this is one of the few that make a real, proper one. Highly recommend.”

I visited with my family and found the atmosphere to be warm and welcoming, creating a great setting for both social gatherings and a relaxed solo visits. The food was outstanding, especially the meat dishes, which were cooked perfectly to a medium rare. “The beef patty is cooked to perfection—crisp on the outside, tender within—with melted cheese enveloping the meat for a rich flavour. Fresh sides cut through the richness beautifully. The thick-cut chips are savoury, crispy and satisfying. The restaurant boasts lovely surroundings—definitely worth a second visit！”

“I always come to this branch as it’s close to my home. The drinks are amazing and staff are always friendly and helpful. My favourite drink is the mango cream crusty and brown sugar fresh milk. I highly recommend this place.”

“Such incredible food here! It was a busy Sunday when we went in, which meant we didn’t really get much of an ‘entrance’ welcome but that’s fine - it said counter service so we went and grabbed a table ok! Meals and coffees came out super fast even though I was bracing for a long wait - coffee was good and hot, but the breakfasts were AMAZING. I got the creamy mushrooms, my partner got the eggs Benedict. Can’t fault them!”

“Good experience picking your own strawberries, we were told there was a large group the day before so we would really have to look for strawberries and mentioned their other branch just down the road, we ended up staying and we found some good juicy red ones. It wasnt busy when we got there but got abit busy when we left. Best to go when they open, and also try the ice creams next door. Overall awesome experience. Oh and you can also eat as you pick lol”

“Normally stopping for a cup of coffee here but today I tried their meal. Since I eat keto, I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and mushrooms without toast for $20(May 2022) Happy with the amount of food. Great service, friendly staff.”
