“This was by far one of the BEST BURGERS I've had in years. Just the most juicy, delicious & tasty burger and for about the same price price as a normal crappy burger from a burger chain. Do yourself and your tastebuds a massive favour and make a stop at Phat Burger! Excellent value!”
“Went here the other day for a coffee and I can highly recommend it! I didn't get anything else, but all the food and treats looked tasty as - and price appear to be very reasonable.”
“Love this boutique cafe. Flatwhite was very well made. Bought two bags of bean and the coffee smell in the car highlighted all my trip. He gave me a pen and sticker as gifts also. Hopefully I will come back soon”
“the pie was absolutely to die for, the sandwich was amazing cos it had fillings to the edge.. today bakeries aren't the same they skim U of food they don't fill a filled roll like they did.. but this place had it all.. I've been dying to come here for about a year and today I finally got my chance and I definitely wasn't disappointed.. I'm a new regular now”
“Another great coffee find! Almond Breeze milk which is the tastiest, really reasonable prices with $5 sweets like slices, fresh cream donuts, custard sq, and savoury at $6 for quiches, sandwiches etc. Had a lovely mushroom and bacon quiche. A few indoor seats for 2 and a few street side, busy road tho so bit noisy outside. Great for takeaways. Even had the paper to read.”
“Shelley is absolutely amazing. Had the pleasure of purchasing a wetsuit, kids skateboard, scooter parts which Shelley kindly put together. If anything she doesn't have at store she always finds and orders in. Love supporting our local surf/skate/scooter store here in Papamoa and will always go to her. Can't recommend highly enough and worth our community support instead of online. Can't bet that personal touch.”
Falafel Metro leans into a burger‑led approach without the fuss. Gluten‑free needs are handled with care. Wraps hold together with fresh salads and steady sauces. Combinations read bold but stay balanced.
“Perfect hidden gem at Mt.Maunganui! The best latte art I've ever seen.(Mine was an angel sitting on the branch) And you can try authentic Japanese Onigiri and Cheese cake made by Japanese owners. I highly recommend the cheese cake!”
“Matt is a wonder! When my car broke down, Quinn's Autos was recommended by several people from different garages that I rang. This also included the tow truck operator who took me to his workshop..(5.30pm Friday night and Matt was still open and happy to help.) These people all said that he was THE BEST at replacing transmissions. Thankyou Matt, for your open and honest communication, and keeping me up to date. There were issues with the second hand transmission but once again, nothing was too much trouble and it was sorted quickly and efficiently. If I could give 10 stars I would. Great service, great attitude and great work. Many thanks!!”

“A truly great coffee, also served nice and hot. Decided to grab a toasted cheese and onion sandwich which was tasty and thoroughly enjoyed. Well done to the young lady who served me, very pleasant and friendly.”
“Amazing coffee! Tiny place, perfect place for a take away.”
“A perfect flat white made with locally sourced Hohepa milk. The owner is a fantastic friendly guy who surfs longboards. They do takeaways, but I'd recommend taking a load off and enjoying your relaxing cuppa in-house. Highly recommended.”
“Very Interesting, knowledgeable guy running the place. He has a great story too! Fair prices and great selection of books. The sort of bookshop you will always return to. Really happy to find it.”
“Seriously great coffee. First time I’ve come here and couldn’t have asked for a better coffee to start 2026!”

“Such a cute little cafe, all vegan. I got the mac n cheese burrito with gherkins and a custard creme doughnut, my partner got the jalapeno cheese rolls and a biscoff cookie- all were so so tasty and affordable. If we lived in Dunedin, we would be here every lunch break. Plus free coffee (with orders over $10) Server is also so lovely, would highly recommend”
“One of the best coffee places I’ve been to in terms of quality. The peanut butter was also great and so fun to talk to the workers and owner!”
“Had a chance to try this place as part of the Urban Cocktail Trail event. Friendly staff, chill atmosphere. Highly recommend the Tropical Margarita! They also have a great selection of low- and no- alcohol cocktails/mocktails. Don't be fooled by the false door - the entrance is hidden (speakeasy-style) as a bookcase full of DVDs.”
“One of my favourite cafes in Auckland. The vibes and aesthetic are immaculate. Best of all though, the coffee is consistently so delicious. League above nearby competitors. If there were tiers in cafe world this would easily be an S-tier. 100/10”
“Oat flat white was really nice. Very good service and polite. Will come back if I’m back to Auckland!”
“If you want fresh baguette, croissant, pain au chocolat like in France, come here. It is small but his produces all made by him are delicious, simple and authentic. Deserve to be supported locally around takapuna. Makes good coffee too. Recommended.”
