“I've been frequenting El Faro (formerly Cafe Metro) since the relaunch with the new owners, for the last couple of years. Each visit has been a delightful and consistent experience. Great variety of food, all delicious, fair portions and prices. Staff are always friendly and upbeat. I've also enjoyed the variety of one off menu specials that celebrate other cultures and countries. This non cafe goer has been slowly coming around thanks to El Faro. “Honestly don’t know what all the people on here are talking about, we went in tonight for dinner and had the most amazing service. Our waiter Eddie was absolutely amazing, great energy, playful jokes and some amazing service. He made the entire experience enjoyable. On top of that the cocktails and food were 10/10 I got the steak burger and it was huge!!!!! I was struggling to fit it all in my mouth but it was worth it cause the flavours were just phenomenal. Definitely recommend popping in here and having dinner it’s a great spot”

“Woah...portions are BIG....ribs were really nice and if you are not too hungry, maybe a starter portion is sufficient. their burger was also super, and beer to go with it. all good. Just be careful though if u are ordering sides, be clear what you ordered and how much extra it will cost. I ordered a side I thought came with the main course and ended up paying close to $10 for the side.”

“Very warm and welcoming place. It is what one would imagine as a place to eat while thinking about a village or a small town like Lincoln. The food is good. I had so many good memories about this place. On a cold and windy day getting a coffee for myself and hot chocolate for my kids. On Friday after long and exhausting week lunch coffee with a pie. And today with all the rain we get at the moment delicious spicy pumpkin soup was the most appreciated thing for me and my wife.”

Truly the best cheese scone in Chch. It's really the flavour that makes it so good. I think a lot of places focus more on texture which is not a bad idea, but it's gotta be well rounded. This scone has it all. I'd love to come back and try the gluten free one. Coffee was also amazing. The two ladies, one on till and one on coffee, were both incredible as well and had such lovely vibes. 10/10 experience”
