I’ve just completed the 10AM Civic Tour led by James and warmly ushered by Katie. What an absolutely glorious experience. I say ‘performance’ by James because the tour itself unfolded like a beautifully crafted show. I loved every minute — the rich historical details, the humour, the storytelling. I would highly recommend this as a must-do cultural attraction for anyone wanting to experience Auckland’s arts and heritage at its finest.

Kia Ora. Thanks do much for pleasant and enjoyable to cenimy seeing „A Christmas Carol” on the stage. I was enchanted with acting quality, plot Construction with so much humor in it and special effects in a wonderful atmosphere that makes me count the days down on the way to Christmas. PS. Thanks for letting me takę so many pictures after the show in this historical theatre. I’ve covered at about 17 000 km to be there. Much appreciated and see You there one day in the future! :)

I recently visited the Civic to see Bill Bailey, and once again this iconic venue reminded me why I’ve always loved it over the years. The theatre may be small and old, but it is incredibly well maintained, full of character, and absolutely excellent in every way. The seating is extremely comfortable, with great views from all around the theatre, making it a truly enjoyable place to watch any act you choose. The atmosphere adds a special charm that newer venues often can’t match. One thing I really appreciated was that the refreshment prices weren’t excessive—something you don’t always find at theatres these days. It made the whole experience feel even more welcoming. The Civic has long been a firm favourite with Aucklanders, and after this visit, it’s easy to see why. It’s a lovely place to enjoy a show, and my night watching Bill Bailey was no exception

What a stunning feast for the eyes! We attended an event here recently and what a spectacular place both in and out. Hard for disabled folk, with many stairs but it was an enjoyable experience. When I was seated, I looked up and it felt like I was outside amongst the stars. I hope to come back again

What a great and beautiful theatre the Civic is. It has so many spaces, and walking inside feels like being in a movie. It was also used by Peter Jackson to film King Kong, and today it hosts international shows. The place is very well kept, with respect for the time when it was built. The hall with its starry sky. The bronze. Everything always shining. Very recommended to visit.

The Civic is the best. Great seating and temprature always just right. Decor is the most amazing in NZ. Been here many times of 20 years and everytime was great. (Just once a rude person behind us but not the Civic's fault.

Came to see the show Kinky Boots which was amazing!!!. Plenty of parking at the civic carpark, easy access to get to Queen Street with a short walk down to the Civic. Beautiful & luxurious furnishings inside. Toilets were very clean and easy to find.

What an amazing venue we are very lucky to have jt in auckland and for it to be in great condition. Have been there for dance parties, movies, shows, concerts and art exhibitions and has been perfect everytime. There is food and drink on site. Plenty of toilets and lots of helpful people. A must see if you get the chance to see something there.

I've been to a number theaters around the world but I have never seen one anything like this. The Indian-inspired decorated foyer is spectacular. The ornately decorated columns with elephant capitals, seated Buddhas, the star-sprinkled ceiling, and the elephant decorated chandelier are just some of the amazing decorations! If you didn't know you were in New Zealand you'd think you were in India! The Civic theater in Auckland is a must visit.
