“We have our son (4y) and daughter (1.5y) at BestStart Remuera road. I really feel like we hit the jackpot with this daycare. There is a real focus on our daughter's development in the baby room. They really care about her and she loves going everyday. I have noticed her recently excelling in her speech and even has started identifying colours. I was so nervous at first as it took her a while to settle – the staff were calm and reassured me of what is normal and I'm glad to now see her toddle in willingly! In the 2y and over room it's mixed ages like that of Kindergarten and they have started a "school ready" program for the 4y+ preschoolers. I feel like my own IQ has been bolstered by what my son has learnt over the past few months. He knows so much about the solar system and has started writing his name. This year, many children moved on to school, and it was so heartwarming to see whole teams of teachers attending 5th birthday parties to celebrate and show their support. That says so much about the strong relationships they build. The teaching team has remained consistent over the years. When my younger child started, I already knew everyone—which gave me a great sense of trust. Every class is different, everyone’s ability is considered and options are provided. We learn something new in each class so we look forward to attend training every week. They are patient, sensitive to each child’s needs and interests, and always respond with love and understanding. After the first two hours I left my daughter with the teachers, she came back home singing Brown Bear! Since then, every time she arrives at the centre, Teacher Wilma shows her the goldfish she loves, and Teacher Chloe sings Brown Bear with her—creating a warm, consistent, and welcoming atmosphere. Each time during pick-up, I can see how well the teachers know my daughter—her likes and dislikes, and her little habits. Even though we’ve only been here for two weeks, I can already see a genuine relationship and attachment forming between her and the teachers. “Rohan taught my son guitar lessons an over a year ago, at his home and then online when we moved house. I was really impressed by how thorough and dedicated he was as a teacher. He’s a Christian and brings that same care and integrity into his teaching. “A centre that feels like home when you walk through the door; we are always warmly greeted by Denise, Janna or Jane at the front desk. Kids are then welcomed into their room by the amazing, nurturing kaiako. The staff are passionate, highly skilled at their jobs and offer so much support to families; whether its helping with settling your child in the morning, toilet training or remembering what's important in each child's life at home. Amy makes the most delicious meals which our kids both loved and despite using Amy's exact recipes to recreate these meals at home, our daughter tells us "you need to ask Amy how to make it as good as hers!" We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found Kindercare as we don't have whanau in Auckland, but having such a special place for our kids is the next best thing. Both our kids had five years being lovingly cared for by the unique Kindercare Silverdale team - after ten years of being part of the Kindercare whanau, it is really hard to imagine saying goodbye to the centre later this year when our baby turns five. Highly recommend!”
