“Nice comfortable place handy to town. Friendly owner”
“Very good service Always on time and my dog loves Michael”
“Auntie Briar’s is the best geoomer we have ever been to. Our dogs had very negative experiences with groomers. To the point where one was puking and wetting himself when we got to the groomer. Our other dog is very reactive and doesn’t cope well with other dogs. At auntie briar’s, it is a straight miracle. Our older dog loves being there to the point where he runs in to be with them. Our other reactive dog, he frolicks and plays with the other dogs after being groomed because they make such a calm and friendly environment. Our older dog never shakes in fear and even stayed with them while we were away. I think he wanted to live there permanently! Auntie briar’s has truly transformed our pups into confident little guys who absolutely strut their stuff after being groomed. Lots of love from Ollie and Teddy. They truly adore you all!”
“The Cool Bunny Sitters are amazing!! Our bunny Ollie was so well cared for. A wonderful, professional service! Love how very clean and organised it is! Thank you!”
“Hampton Court is appointed so beautifully, we wished we could stay longer than 1 night. Lots of homely extras for a comfortable stay and close to restaurants and shops!”
“We stayed at this beautiful place while in Waiuku for a close family bereavement. We rang quite late the first night and it was not a problem at all to arrive in the dark, quite stressed and very tired. Our other accommodation prebooked for the following few days was disgusting so we rang Phyllis and Jim to see if we could return for 5 more nights. Nothing was an issue. They made us feel so welcome and comfortable at a very sad time. The grounds are beautiful and calming. The spa and sauna were a blessing. The breakfasts are yum. The birds, cows, chickens and bunny rabbits were entertaining. We would not stay anywhere else in Waiuku. Can’t thank them enough. Arohanui Lisa, Adrian and Brady”

“Amazing place to stay, the price is what catches your eye, the cleanliness of the rooms and amazing service (not to mention the soft beds) is what will bring you back. Absolutely loved our stay. It’s also less than 10 minutes away from the zoo. Highly rate the Royal park Lodge! Thank you!!”
“You maybe greeted by Sam. He is fantastic, friendly and approachable. My stay was very comfortable, room was clean and tidy, perfect location (for me),and great affordability”
“We have had a few stays at this motel and we have to say it has always been beautifully clean, sufficiently appointed, comfortable and private. A little road noise at busy times but otherwise quiet and very pleasant to stay. Would def recommend.”
“Terry and Cindy were lovely people with a lovely home. Great breakfast and advice about what to see and where to go. The location is great with parking and a bus stop just down the street.”
“Great place, as it states in the name, cats are "appy". Diligent and friendly operator, done out of passion for the cats.”
“Spectacular... a pleasure to stay!”
“I have been bringing my cats here for years. They get very well cared for. I know they are in good hands.”
“What an incredible stay! From the moment we stepped through Alison and Danny’s door, we felt genuinely welcome—not just as guests, but as if we were returning home. We shared countless moments of laughter, cooked and ate together, and even hosted fun gatherings. Alison was always there to lend a hand whenever needed, making everything even more special. I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Alison, Danny, and their lovely dogs and cats. It’s the kind of place you can always return to and feel completely at ease. Lots of love, Alisha & Victor”
“Visited July 2025 When I searched online for farm stays in New Zealand, I only found extremely expensive options, and most stays were for about a week, so I was wondering if it would be difficult to find for a short trip. That's when I found this place. I contacted them by email and received a reply from Marie. The website didn't provide much information about the terms and prices, but it required a minimum stay of two days, and the accommodation options for this time were as follows: -- $500.00 Accommodation (2 days) $80.00 Dinners 2 days per person $20.00 Breakfasts 2 days per person $20.00 Lunch 2 days per person -- For a basic family of four, I'd estimate it would cost around $1,000 for two days. Prices will likely fluctuate with inflation, so you'll need to check. Other options include: $100.00 horse riding per person $100.00 Harness driving for family I think this might be helpful if you're interested. It's about 30-40 minutes from Auckland International Airport. Travelers should be aware that it's nearly impossible to access without a rental car. The entrance is a little hard to find, but you can access it from Walters Road on the north side. Look for this "189" sign. Marie rents out an entire section of her house for you to stay in. It can accommodate a maximum of nine families (assuming four or five children). When I visited, there were two dogs and three cats roaming freely inside and outside the house. I'm assuming that anyone reading this is interested in a farm stay and loves animals, but if you have dog or cat allergies, it can be quite difficult, so it's best to keep that in mind. The rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the surrounding area is quiet, surrounded by grasslands as far as the eye can see. They have nearly 20 horses, goats, and sheep, and you can even go horseback riding. The landlord, Marie, is very nosy (I mean that as a compliment) and takes care of you in many ways, so if you can speak to her in English, she'll tell you all about life in New Zealand. I also had the opportunity to learn horse riding from her daughter, Jillian. There were no other guests when I stayed there, so I was able to spend about two hours watching the horses being taken out of the stables, grooming their manes and bodies, putting them in saddles, and wiping them off after riding. It was a valuable experience that you can't get anywhere else. I've traveled all over the world a lot, but I've mostly stayed in hotels and never experienced such a comprehensive farm stay. This was a great experience, and it felt like I had a home in New Zealand lol. So, I'd really like to give it a ⭐️10! but I can't, so I'll give it ⭐️5! That said, there were a few things I think you should keep in mind, so I'll write them down here. ・There is a bathtub in the bathroom! However, since it's the same as the toilet and it's the only toilet in the accommodation area, you can't use it while someone else is taking a bath lol. Also, while it shouldn't be a problem in the summer, in the winter, when you wake up at night to use the toilet, the bathroom floor is tiled and quite cold, and there are no slippers. I think it's a good idea to bring some kind of disposable slippers with you. There is Wi-Fi, but it only gets out at a speed of 3MBp and often cuts out, so basically it's best not to rely on it (I wonder if this will improve in the future? Well, maybe Marie wants us to enjoy nature without the internet lol). There are no trash cans in the rooms. It might be a good idea to bring some kind of bag for that. You'll basically be spending time with dogs, cats, and horses, so you'll get covered in their fur. If it bothers you, it might be easier to keep a small dustpan (sticky carpet cleaner) with you to clean your clothes. Still, I'm still giving it 5 stars, so if you're interested, please contact Marie!”
“This was the best place we have ever left our cat, Debby is fantastic with animals and looked after Crystal so well she didn’t want to leave when we went to collect her. When she got home she was so relaxed, she was in there for almost 4 weeks, can’t say enough at how good they are, highly recommended”
“A gentle and welcoming place, thank you for having me.”
“Excellent attention and predisposition to help you! Excellent breakfasts!”

“Love the Dog depot!!! So pleased to have found Annette and Grace who run the Dog Depot on Waiheke. My mini schnauzer Maggie and I are here for a couple of months and Annette was so accommodating to squeeze her in. They also pick up and drop off which is so handy! Maggie comes home so happy with a big grin on her face. Thank you so much Dog Depot! Can’t recommend you highly enough!”

“Great golf course in summer at a reasonable price. Can get a little wet in winter, but still not as bad as some courses in Auckland. Challenging holes with some interesting OB carries. Plays like a mix between parkland and links.”
“Stayed here for 2 months whilst looking for a flat/work on a working holiday and it’s a great hostel for short or long term stay. Very clean, good value and has a very homely, friendly atmosphere”
“Very comfortable motel with very kind and helpful host.”
