   What a beautiful historical site to enjoy a cup of tea. The film festivals seem to have started again, by private invite only so very exclusive. It seems to have a family focus some weeks. I was not pleased to see the plants in such a dire state of thirst. The rooms are beautifully adorned, but the recent infestation of spiders has led me to find other lodging. It's unfortunate this establishment is such a far drive and not located directly next to a Taco Bell.

   Located just off the motorway, this lovely abode has been known for a plethora of highly sought after events. One that I went to recently involved a mooovie screening where they served popcorn on platters with only the finest NZ chocolates. While watching the movie, to my surprise, smoke started billowing out from behind the screen. Is it a fire? No, we have special effects! I felt like I was in Disney World on one of those multi sensory rides, but I didn't have to wait in line for 2 hours, win! A little smoke machine can go a long way, I would know, in about 15 Earth seconds, I smoked myself and my fellow alienz out of our spaceship wreckage 2 times with this very smoke machine! I highly recommend this place.

   Perfect location for a funeral and a spooky Halloween adventure with its pricless delicate old decor. They even have a free security service via the colony of Avondale Huntsman Spiders that live inside the walls. (For real they are actually friendly and keep the bugs away) 5/5 stars, I will be haunting this beautiful house weekly.

   I have attended a couple of film festivals here.. Great service, lovely location - the staff were super friendly, the rabbit was a highlight. I am looking forward to my next visit, and would highly recommend :) Small update: it seems film festivals have since closed.
