“My husband and I went to Bar Savannah on Wednesday night for their Steak and Chips special for only $18, and it was such great value! The steak was a good 200 grams — cooked nicely — and came with a generous serving of chips and a fresh salad. The food was really good, and the service was excellent. The staff were all friendly, and Raj looked after us the entire time. He was great! We also loved that they have pool tables, which we played on while waiting for our food. Overall, a great experience!”

“The loveliest experience. Very nice staff and the food is delicious. $7 happy hour (5-7.30pm) beers and $12 cocktails too! I think it may be newer owners as the food is Indian and Pizza now which seems different to earlier reviews. They were also more than happy to make us a vegan meal. “What a great place to discover. This friendly bar and restaurant about 60 metres from Waiwera beach has the relaxed beach vibe in abundance. Inside there is a restaurant end with about 8 tables, then there is a bar area which opens into a covered outdoor area with pool table and pizza bar with wood fired pizzas. Service was friendly and functional and the business seems to be family run. Food was excellent. Best lamb shank I’ve had in ages with excellent flavours. Prawn salad was also very good. Beer was ice cold and they had a good collection of spirits as well as smoothies and non-alcoholic drinks. I think for me the relaxed atmosphere was what I enjoyed the most - like stepping into some place you’ve known all your life and instantly relaxing. Waiwera town feels a bit run down but the history with the hot pools (now closed) is interesting and it has retained its sleepy charm. If you’re going to Wenderholm consider lunch or dinner at Sugarloaf beach bar.”

“Had dinner here the other night here indulging in some quality food. Never dissapoints with service everytime I come here. I ordered the king prawns, oysters, brocollini, flounder and eye fillet to share with my mother and we both left satisfied. Great value too if you have accorsplus so you can benefit from the dining discounts.”

“I have had my birthday party here and it was the best place as I don't usually have parties for my birthday, last year November, the bar staff are friendly, they have an awesome Bar Manager Rajat Behl aka Raj. I would definitely suggest this bar to anyone who would like to celebrate their birthday there. My birthday there went perfectly.”

“Fabulous Polynesian cuisine, affordable and fresh and so delicious. We had the roasted lamb flaps, turkey tails, and pig's head. It was ALL so good and the pig's head had such crispy skin while the tongue remained tender to the bite. Chop suey was lovely, too. Highly recommend! The service was also good and one of the staff kindly explained the dishes to us (we were new to Polynesian food). Hope to return for some salted beef and lu sipi and that tantalisingly golden giant doughnut ball.”

“Haven't been here in years was super impressed with everything. Love the layout & different themes for each seated area, such a great idea to uncorporate a Library never seen that in a restaurant before, it adds a lovely homely feel, my favourite would have to be the Whiskey Lounge, the decor makes you feel you've stepped back in time. Food was fantastic had the classic kiwi steak meal cooked to perfection & our host MJ, what a delightful, courteous human. She certainly knows that menu inside out, very precise, certainly don't get fabulous service like that anymore, thank you MJ. Had a very enjoyable & memorable evening, definitely recommend coming here.”

Definitely think that people may go with a certain perception of teppanyaki, but for the price and service of the experience, I’d definitely say that we enjoyed our time there. “I saw their advert in the local paper and thought I'd give it a try. WOW I was super impressed!!! Great food and super value. I went in on Tuesday for their T-Bone special. Wondering if they're consistent hehehe we went over last night (Thursday) to try their Roast Dinner special and again WOW!!!! The meal was absolutely delicious!!! It reminded me of my childhood and Sunday lunches. A superb local spot, catering for all including families with little ones. Fantastic value for money and lovely friendly staff.
