Sophie was wonderful she was 5 star and had looked after us really well. She always made sure we had drinks and was an excellent host. We need more people like Sophie in our hospitality circles. We had enjoyed it so much and came back for the second night. We were greeted by another lady that was not friendly and had terrible customer service skills. Same with the lady that serviced us at the bar. I hope you realise that when you have good staff and you are willing to give them a tip for $50 two nights in a row that’s why we come back. But disappointed in your other 2 staff that weren’t very welcoming at all.

I recently dined at Lonestar Albany and while the food itself was fine, the experience was overshadowed by how severely understaffed the venue was. On a fully booked night, there were only two front-of-house staff trying to manage the entire restaurant. The wait staff were absolutely run off their feet—doing their best under impossible circumstances—but service inevitably suffered. Orders took a long time, attention to tables was stretched thin, and the overall atmosphere felt stressed rather than enjoyable. A special mention to our waitress Kiara, who was incredible. She remained friendly, attentive, and professional despite being visibly stretched far beyond what’s reasonable. Her effort was commendable, but no staff member should be put in that position. This isn’t a reflection on the staff themselves, who were working incredibly hard, but rather on management. The owner needs to roster more staff to ensure both customers and employees have a positive experience. A busy venue should never leave its team so unsupported. Until staffing levels improve, I’d hesitate to recommend dining here on a busy night.

Okay this was the worst lone star experience I have ever had. I never write reviews but it was so bad that I feel like I have to. We made an online booking for my birthday. We got our drinks ordered, and then was told it’s a new chef and 2 big groups are being served so that it will take a while to order. I feel like this is something that should have been said to us prior or during confirmation of the booking. We were told to order our entrees first then wait to order mains Entrees Bean dip - literally a massive dip, with about 5-8 tortilla chips. We had to order a side of chips to finish the dip. Like did they run out or are they just stingy now. Loaf of bread - it was okay but very different to how it use to be Squid - literally can count the squid We could finally order our mains. We had 7 people dining and after waiting so long they forgot to bring out 1 other main. 2 lasso of hogs - both very dry pieces of pork. This use to be my favourite dish at new lynn Lone Star but this was just rubbish 2 steaks - both very dry and one couldn’t finish because it wasn’t even cooked properly 1 venison - very dry 1 nachos - very different to how it use to be. Served with a tea towel because it was hot so we had a tea towel on our table New porker - they forgot to bring this out and also the meat was very dry Must say the coleslaw was giving it came straight from the supermarket After waiting ages again I had to ask for my birthday pavlova. They ran out of candles which was okay however it was badly presented I can’t say it’s the waiters fault because they were all apologetic and clearly management is at fault here However this was not worth $511 Please don’t waste your time and money here. Literally would have had a better meal at Popeyes next door

Very disappointed with our visit to Albany Restaurant. There seemed to be some serious issue in the kitchen — three of our meals came out together while the fourth arrived much later, and the food quality was terrible. The steak was completely dry, and the lamb was mostly skin with hardly any meat. Another table even sent their food back, which says a lot. The serving staff and manager were very kind and tried to help, offering a discount, but that didn’t make up for the poor experience. We only finished our meals because we were very hungry, not because we enjoyed them. Definitely not worth the visit. We used to love Lornstar before and always had great experiences there, so this visit to Albany was a real disappointment in comparison.

The only reason I am giving a three for service is because we had a 75th birthday celebration that we told management about when we booked but they were so busy that they forgot about it. The food was delicious and we went early so did not have to wait long for it. The later it got and the busier they got, some people waited long for their food. So some advice, if you go on a Saturday evening, go early as this place is good and therefore popular. Will definitely go again.

The serving size was huge, but that was about the only redeeming factor. The food was relatively tasteless and not very flavourful. The best of the night was the garlic ciabatta bread. The steak was tough and very chewy - akin to eating a slab of cardboard. The milky bar pudding was stodgy and bland, and was only partly saved by the very sweet sauce it was literally swimming in. The service was non-existant. They should really try to make their food tasty so that their patrons want to go back! And the seats were damn hard and painful to sit on for a few hours. Sadly, the reviews on Trip Advisor are accurate! Overall, extremely disappointing. Cannot recommend.

We enjoyed a birthday dinner celebration here tonight & even though we were just a small group, we were presented with a birthday dessert with a candle & singing. Lovely touch which was really appreciated. Great meals too. Many Thanks

I had the stake and a cocktail. The cocktail was so yummy! But the stake was super chewy and very rubbery unfortunately I couldn't finish it. The staff was lovely tho ☺️☺️

Have not been to a Lone Star in ages. I feel it is the more expensive version of cobb and co. However, food and service was really good and loved the banoffee pie.
