Went here on the weekend and ordered a bunch of food with my partner. We asked for 3 rice bowls but only received 2, which we didn’t make a fuss about at first. When it came time to pay, we mentioned the missing rice bowl. Instead of checking, one of the staff members got defensive and acted as if we were trying to scam him. We explained we only received 2 out of 3, but he kept insisting we had all 3 until my partner told him to look at our table and count the bowls himself. Once he saw, he went quiet but still didn’t bother apologizing, even though the mistake was on their side.
Overall the food was good but the seasoning was generally spicy so it is not really kid friendly. The small plates allow us to try different dishes, which was a good experience.

Hands down my absolute favourite restaurant, we live in Orewa and travel down just for their food. Their yakitori combo is incredible, highly recommend ordering this dish. Loved every dish I've ever ordered. Thanks so much team for always delivering amazing food :-)
Nice yakitori bar but generalyl come here for dons and have some yakitori sticks on the side. The dons aren't the biggest but they are quite nice. A fairly large selection on the menu and it is all quite good. It is generally self service for water and tea.
One of the worse yakitori bar ever visited. Chicken Karaage was hard on the outside and also hard on the inside and dry ,,, suppose to be juicy. There should be side salad like cabbage & Mayonnaise as you get serve in most of Japanese restaurants with Karaage chicken ,so when we asked for sauce, $3 to add a tiny tub of mayo. Rice was really hard and not cooked properly & cold no steam , tasted like it was left over. the food is not worth for its price to be honest. Not a welcoming atmosphere. I would not go back and would not recommend to anyone.
I used to frequent this restaurant with my family for more than 10 years when I lived in the area. I recently came back to the area with my fiancee for a date, everything was just as I had remembered. The food tasted the same and the atmosphere is still great. I'm glad they have been able to survive the pandemic and hope they keep making the food I love.
